In trying to provide a concise response to the question of what is reality, Phillip K. Dick here answers in the form of a particularly McLuhan-esque aphorism. He was wary of mass media, and rightly so, because it’s the effect of what he says here that is so connected to what McLuhan was trying to wake people up to as well.
