Learning to ride a bike

After one month and over 325 miles, I've learned some things about riding a road bike.

I gave in and got a road bike

After racking up *thousands* of road miles on a hybrid bicycle I decided to finally get a bike more fit for that purpose.

My First Metric Century

After months of training, I set out yesterday morning on the longest bike ride of my life (so far).

If the Bike Fits

I've been riding (as an adult) for five years, and last week I finally took my bike to get it professionally fitted for my body. It feels like a brand new bicycle! I should have done this ages ago.

Bikeless for a Few Days

After riding it for a bit over a year (and racking up just over 2300 miles), this morning I dropped off my bike at a local shop for a long-overdue professional tune-up.

Weekend Update (2025-05-26)

This week I survived a tornado emergency, bought tickets for another show, tinkered with some selfhosting, and wrenched on the Ghia a bit more.

Weekend Update (2025-05-04)

This week I started using a new language learning app, explored a new longer bike route, and got most of the remaining bits and bobs back in the Ghia.

I've been cycling recreationally since 2020. Here's my rig.

Headlights on My Head

Continuing my quest to be obnoxiously visible while cycling, I added a headlight to my head and taillights to, uh, the back of my head.

This Week 2024 08 25

Just time for a quick recap of the week - lots of bike riding, lots of bike wrenching, and other things not relating to cycling.

This Week 2024 07 13

Just time for a quick recap of the week: still more cycling, more golang learning, more feed aggregator tinkering, concert plans, and more, probably!
