These terms apply to Remote OK and any other of Remote OK's sites, apps, communities on any platform, any of its meetups and/or any of its online or offline events or properties (collectively, the “Remote OK Properties”).
Remote OK and the logo are registered trademarks and subject to copyright worldwide.
Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility to any person or organisation as a consequence of any reliance upon the information contained in its sites like Remote OK and any other of its sites and properties.
Please read these Terms carefully before you start to use Remote OK Properties as these will apply to your use of Remote OK Properties.
By using or accessing the Remote OK Properties, you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you agree to comply with them. By accepting these Terms, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions herein. You further acknowledge that these Terms are a contract between you and Remote OK, even if it is electronic and not physically signed by you and Remote OK. As applicable, you represent that you have the authority to contractually bind the company, business, or other legal entity (“Client Entity”) on whose behalf you are accepting this Agreement, in which case, for clarification, the terms “you” or “your” or “Client” refer to such Client Entity. If you do not have such authority to contractually bind such client entity to these Terms, you must not use the Remote OK Properties.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Remote OK Properties.
We may revise these Terms at any time by amending this page. Please check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we made, as they are binding on you. By continuing to use or access the Remote OK Properties, you acknowledge, accept, and agree to any changes to these Terms. In certain cases, Remote OK may notify you of upcoming changes. In such cases, your continued use of or access to the Remote OK Properties or your failure to respond to such notification and reject the upcoming changes within ten (10) business days will constitute your acceptance of such changes.
Access to the Remote OK services (the “Services”) are available under a subscription plan (“Remote OK Subscription”). The Remote OK Subscription is a non-refundable annual subscription fee in the amount indicated on the subscription sign up (or communicated to you thereafter), which can be paid in full or in monthly payments for the twelve (12) month period (the “Annual Term”). If you are eligible for any discounts or promotions, Remote OK will describe those on the subscription sign up or otherwise in writing. You may cancel your subscription at any time via email to [email protected], and your access to the Services will end upon the expiration of the Annual Term. All paid subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. Please remember that, in the case of monthly payments of the Annual Term, the monthly payment remains due and payable through the end of the then current Annual Term, even if you choose to cancel your subscription or the Service or your account becomes unavailable prior to that date, except if Remote OK decides to end the Services as described below.
The TopAccess Subscription offers a suite of freelancer benefits and access to freelance networks, including the Remote OK Subscription and other industry benefits as described below or otherwise by Remote OK in writing (the “TopAccess Subscription”). The TopAccess Subscription is a non-refundable annual subscription paid in monthly installments in the amount indicated on the subscription sign up (or communicated to you otherwise in writing by Remote OK) over the twelve (12) months of the subscription period (the “TopAccess Term”). If you are eligible for any discounts or promotions, Remote OK will describe those on the subscription sign up or otherwise in writing. You may cancel your TopAccess Subscription at any time via email to [email protected], and your access to the TopAccess Services (defined below) will end upon the expiration of the Annual Term. All paid subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. Monthly payments remain due and payable through the end of the then current Annual Term, even if you choose to cancel your subscription or the TopAccess Service or your Account becomes unavailable prior to that date, except if Remote OK decides to end the Services as described below.
The TopAccess Services made available as part of the TopAccess Subscription are made up of benefits and incentives provided by Remote OK and other service providers in the freelance marketplace industry. The TopAccess Services includes the services detailed on Remote OK’s website as of the date of you register for the TopAccess Subscription, or otherwise by Remote OK in writing. As of the Effective Date, the TopAccess Services include the items listed below, which are subject to change. For the avoidance of doubt, in the event of a conflict between the below description and the description on the Remote OK website or otherwise in writing by Remote OK, the Remote OK website or writing will control.
Toptal Marketplace Screening: automatically join the Toptal Marketplace screening process as a priority applicant. Your application will be reviewed according to Toptal’s terms (https://www.toptal.com/tos) and privacy policy (https://www.toptal.com/privacy).
The We Work Remotely Job Seeker Pro Subscription as defined herein.
People Per Hour Screening: your application to the People Per Hour freelance network will be reviewed within one (1) working day, subject to the People Per Hour’s Terms and Conditions (https://www.peopleperhour.com/static/terms) (the “PPH Terms”).
More People Per Hour Proposals: Ten (10) project proposal credits and one (1) featured project proposal credit per month additional to the credits PPH Basic subscribers receive. These credits are redeemable with People Per Hour LTD as described and subject to the PPH Terms. For the avoidance of doubt, these credits do not accumulate or otherwise “roll over” and are not available for cash refund.
NoDesk platform subscription: access to the NoDesk platform, including exclusive job postings, unlimited applications, and job alerts, subject to the NoDesk platform Terms of Use (https://nodesk.co/legal/terms/).
Remote OK platform subscription: access to the Remote OK platform, including exclusive job postings, instant alerts for new matches, verified blue badge and have your application shown first to potential employers, and ad-free browsing, subject to the Remote OK platform Terms of service (https://remoteok.com/legal).
By subscribing to the TopAccess Subscription, you confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions applicable to each item outlined above.
Remote OK may reward you for succeeding as a freelancer while subscribed to the TopAccess Services. Specifically, if you earn one thousand US Dollars ($1,000) (the “Milestone”) as part of one of the freelance talent network specified below, Remote OK will provide you a reward at the amount and in the form specified below. Remote OK may ask for evidence and documentation to prove that you reached the Milestone in its sole discretion.

REMOTE OK OFFERS THESE REWARDS IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION. REMOTE OK RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO COMPENSATE YOU FOR PARTICIPATION IN AN INCENTIVE PROGRAM AT ANY TIME AND FOR ANY REASON, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IF REMOTE OK, IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION, HAS DETERMINED THAT YOUR PARTICIPATION IS NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE TERMS, BELIEVES THAT YOU HAVE MISREPRESENTED INFORMATION RELATING TO YOUR PARTICIPATION, HAVE TRIED TO OTHERWISE ABUSE OR “GAME” THE PROGRAM, OR ENGAGED IN OTHER FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY.
For rewards provided as “Credit”, you will receive a credit towards future monthly payments of the TopAccess Subscription in the amount outlined. For rewards provided as “Payment”, Remote OK will pay you via your selected payment method. To be eligible for Rewards labeled “New Talent”, you must have joined the network after the date you subscribed to the TopAccess Subscription. Remote OK will make the Credit or Payment within thirty (30) days of receiving, in Remote OK’s sole discretion, sufficient documentation that you reached the Milestone.
Remote OK will collect payment from you electronically via credit card or, if offered and as applicable, via other payment method you select. If, after payment, Remote OK declines to provide you with some of or all the Services you have chosen, Remote OK will promptly refund the amounts paid for the applicable term. In all other cases all payments are final, and no refunds shall be issued. Any payment Remote OK is unable to process against your credit card on file will be subject to a late fee equal to the lesser of 10% of the fee owed at that time and $30 USD unless otherwise specified on the Remote OK website or by Remote OK. In addition, Remote OK and its affiliates may revoke your eligibility for certain products and services or otherwise refuse to do business with you due to late or unpaid payments.
Your subscription will continue through the end of the then current Annual Term or TopAccess Term (collectively “Subscription Terms”), as applicable. If you cancel the subscription prior to the end of the Subscription Term your access and monthly payment obligations will remain in effect until the end of the Subscription Term. In accordance with applicable laws, Remote OK will notify you in advance of Remote OK Subscription or TopAccess Subscription annual renewal. You will have until 11:59 pm EST on the day preceding the renewal of your subscription to cancel.
You take full responsibility for all taxes and fees of any nature associated with the Service, including any sales tax related to any purchase or sale of services or goods under the Terms. When purchasing or selling services or goods under the Terms, it is your responsibility to determine whether or not sales taxes apply to a transaction and to collect, report and remit the correct amounts to the appropriate authority.
To the full extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that in no event shall Remote OK be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses (even if any Remote OK has been advised of the possibility of such damages) arising out of or in connection with (a) Remote OK or this Agreement or the inability to use Remote OK (however arising, including our negligence), (b) statements or conduct of or transactions with any member or third party on Remote OK, (c) your use of Remote OK or transportation to or from Remote OK events, attendance at Remote OK events, participation in or exclusion from Remote OK groups or Remote OK events and the actions of you or others at Remote OK events, or (d) any other matter relating to Remote OK. Our liability to you or any third parties in any circumstance is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount of fees, if any, you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the action that may give rise to liability.
We collect data about your browser, IP, location for analytics purposes. If you contribute content data to the site, you provide us with a perpetual license to broadcast, display, distribute, sell and produce derivatives from your contributions.
Every effort is made to provide information that is accurate. We give no assurance or warranty that information on this site is current, and take no responsibility for matters arising from changed circumstances or other information or material which may affect the accuracy or currency of information on this site.
Copyright in Remote OK's websites, apps, communities and its properties rests with Remote OK unless otherwise stated.
We reserve the right to permanently ban any user from our websites for behavior that goes against our guidelines. We will be the sole judge of guidelines violations and we do not offer appeals or refunds in those cases.
Remote OK provides instant access to digital content and begins service delivery immediately upon purchase. By proceeding with any purchase, you explicitly waive your right to a refund.
If you are an EU customer, you additionally agree that Remote OK provides you immediate access without the standard 14-day withdrawal period. By proceeding, you explicitly waive your right to withdraw from this purchase.
By using Remote OK, you agree to not promote your website, application, app, software, product, business or yourself by posting links to them, or posting messages to direct users to them, on any of Remote OK sites or apps. Remote OK reserves the right to terminate your account and keep your membership fee as a fine.
Delayed Transactions. In the event a User's Payment Method was declined. Remote OK may attempt to process the transaction again under the same conditions as the transaction was initiated by the User, within a few days of the User's first attempt to purchase their Membership. Where the Payment Method is approved in such a circumstance, the User will receive an email confirming the successful completion of their transaction.
Members are required to set a real and recent profile photo (not group photos, drawings, avatars, objects, shirtless, sexual photos or pics that are not them).
Many of our websites, apps and communities contain user generated data that is subjective, may not be accurate or may be offensive to you. We are not liable for any damages that result from using this data.
The information posted on our websites, apps and communities should not be considered legal, financial or other advice and is not intended to replace consultation with a qualified professional or specific written confirmation from Remote OK. We do not answer specific legal or financial questions.

These terms and conditions will be constructed according to and are governed by the laws of Singapore, regardless of where Remote OK operates or you use Remote OK from.
