I just came across Kev's answer, and as this is something I've been thinking a lot recently, decided to dedicate a post to this. Thanks for reading in advance <3
This honestly is a question that has always been in a corner of my mind, and I could never come up with set of rules to decide whether or not to tell someone. At times, I get over-protective of this place, and sometimes I almost advertise it during conversations, lol.
The thing is, this place is a rather accurate representative of me - my beliefs, hobbies, overall mood, etc. It is like a digital twin. If someone reads my posts here, they would have pretty accurate understanding of me. Although people might feel uncomfortable of this, I feel at peace with this. Mostly because I chose whatever I put here on my own - no algorithm derives stuff, and also I like the attention when I get it 😂.
Now let's see each ring of acquaintances.
Close friends - they all know, and some even follow and read my posts. I am totally happy with this, as I mostly talk about the stuff I write here with them.
Parents and extended family - they mostly dont speak English. And with those that do speak, I never mention the blog. It actually is very irrelevant to them, and they probably dont even understand the concept. We didn't have blogging culture in Azerbaijan.
Coworkers - some do know, but I am sure they have long forgotten about it, and again, mostly people don't care. It is actually comforting to know that they dont care. LOL.
Strangers on the internet - well, this is the target audience for this blog. I am happy to share with you all :D. It is because of my blog that I've met great people along the way, and it is very precious.
People that I just met - this highly depends on the person. When I meet a person and we get along well for couple of days, and if I want to commit to this relationship, I share my blog with them. I've gotten mixed reactions tho - some think I have an audience where I take brand deals, LOL.
