As soon as I hit 40 I opted to leave Guk because I was VERY tired of it. There are a few other options at this level range, but one of my favourites is Permafrost, camping the bear tunnels down below. So I set myself up with a personal difficulty II (I’ve found this is my personal sweet spot for difficulty vs. experience earned) and decided to do some slow casual exping. I’m doing other things IRL at the same time, so I typically just pull the caves, feign, and then get back to it when I can.

So far I’m still only 40, but I can feel 41 creeping up on me.

Well. So far I have to say the cleric / monk / bard combination is a LOT of fun. After starting over at level 10 yesterday and playing for most of the evening, I am now level 34 and find myself in Guk, fighting undead frogloks. I am not a huge fan of this zone, but I’ll do it until around 40, and then I’ll head to Permafrost to beat up some polar bears until 46, then I’ll head to hate.

I’m thinking this might be my new ‘main’ combination of characters, especially when I play with my husband but I guess we’ll see at 50. Each day what class I feel like playing seems to change – nothing wrong with that.

There are so many class combinations available in EverQuest Legends (pretty sure someone said it was over 500) that it’s no wonder I can’t seem to settle down and actually stick with anything.

That’s how Friday night ended with me playing a cleric / bard / monk combination – and absolutely falling in love with it.

I went to reddit to look up some ‘tips and tricks’ on playing the bard properly. I felt like I was missing something. Turns out, I was. I feel like I am much more prepared now, and so I took my new level 10 trio out for a test run. Before I knew it, I was level 17, and then 23. The goal this weekend is to get around 30 and I think that will be fairly simple to do.

This combination hits hard (thanks to the weapons I’ve already leveled) and fast. Add some nice HoT from the cleric, and feign death letting me AFK where ever and when ever I need, and this class combination might actually be a contender for my ‘main’ if I can manage to stick with it.

If there was ever any question of what I’ve been playing lately – well, you can check TempusGameIt and see clear as day that MOST of my time has been in EverQuest Legends. I’ve got four character specs at level 50 now (Paladin, Rogue, Enchanter, and Bard) with a few more slowly crawling up the ranks.

I did also play a tiny bit of Wurm Online (I’m still plucking away at my cloak, that will be a year or two in the making) and I did also log into World of Warcraft to make sure my auctions were posted (which I now realize I forgot to do today). It has been incredibly warm here again, so there has been less gaming and more sitting around doing nothing. I’m also trying to find time to balance all of my other hobbies (reading, knitting, art, etc) and making a big mess of it.

Still, EQL has been fun. We’ll see for how long.

I’m level 50 now on my paladin – rogue – bard. I’m 49 on my enchanter (a very popular choice these days) – and then for something completely different, I decided that I would level up a wizard – shaman – magician, combination. This is incredibly spell heavy, something that I typically try to avoid but I’m actually having a lot of fun with it. I started out at level 10, and now at the time of this post I am somewhere over level 20. This array of classes is not too overpowered with gear, because I simply didn’t have any for that combination. You can see above I don’t have anything at all in my secondary / range / ammo slots, nor am I wearing any shoes. Whewps.

The wizard is mowing things down in a single hit, the pet is doing all of the tanking. I do have a lot of spare AA tossed around and I think that is probably helping me out a bunch. Still, as long as I’m having fun, that’s all that matters. We’ll see how high I get these characters. Originally I was trying a beastlord / druid / wizard because I wanted to level up the few ports I was still missing, but this new combination is even better. The beastlord is sitting at level 41, so I can really pick it up any time.
