Preview and render HTML online
Paste a complete document or a small snippet to check the rendered result. The HTML code viewer is useful for reviewing saved examples, email markup, generated templates, and quick UI ideas. It is an HTML visualizer, not a validator — it renders the markup without checking whether it follows a standard.
View a local HTML file
Open an .html or .htm file up to 2 MB — an HTML file viewer and online HTML reader for pages you have saved or received. The file is read and rendered locally and is not uploaded to Phoenix Code. Relative files are not imported with it, while absolute images, styles, fonts, frames, and media load only when you enable external resources.
What this HTML viewer supports
HTML and inline CSS work by default. External images, styles, fonts, frames, or media require their control. JavaScript becomes available only with external access because scripts can contact or navigate to other sites and may make the tab unresponsive. The HTML renderer uses a restricted iframe without same-origin access; forms, popups, preview downloads, and top-level navigation remain blocked.
Check the web preview at device widths
Switch the viewport between Responsive, Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile presets, or enter a custom pixel width to see how a layout adapts. The tool also runs on phones, so it doubles as a mobile HTML viewer when you need to check a page away from your desk.
Frequently asked questions
How do I view HTML output online?
Paste HTML into the source panel. Live preview is on by default, so the rendered result updates after you pause typing. Turn live preview off if you prefer to use the Refresh preview button manually.
Can I open an .html file from my computer?
Yes. Choose Open .html file and select an .html or .htm file up to 2 MB. The HTML code reader works entirely in your browser; the file itself is not uploaded to Phoenix Code.
Does the HTML viewer run CSS and JavaScript?
Inline CSS is enabled. External page resources are blocked until you select Allow external resources. To run JavaScript, enable external resources first; preview scripts can contact or navigate to other sites and may make the tab unresponsive. Only run code you trust.
What is the difference between an HTML viewer and an HTML editor?
A viewer is for quickly rendering a document or snippet. An editor supports longer authoring work such as managing project files, code hints, and synchronized preview. Phoenix Code provides HTML and CSS editing with Live Preview, while Phoenix Pro adds direct visual editing and richer device preview tools.
Is this HTML viewer free to use?
Yes. It is a free HTML viewer with no sign-up or install, and the only limits are the 2 MB file size and 2 million character caps. Because rendering happens locally, nothing is uploaded and it stays fast on slow connections.
