Re-reading the sequel to The Idiot, Elif Batuman's Either/Or. Selin's mind has been a delightful, profound, hilarious, eye-opening place to inhabit. I will be sad to bid her farewell when I finish the book.
Finished a re-read of The Idiot by Elif Batuman, together with a friend this time. Batuman's voice is so sharp and funny, she writes Selin's thoughts the way I would like to perceive the world - mostly as an onlooker, observing what happens to me in a detached way, with a constant undertone of mild amusement at everything I see.

- Severance on Apple TV Plus. What if the company you worked for severed your brain so that your Work Self and Not-Work Self had no cognitive connection? One of the best shows I've watched in a long time, but they had such an opportunity to make this a commentary on worker alienation in the era of late-stage capitalism and they did not lean into this nearly enough.
