I’m Rich Bowen. Long, long ago, I was a prolific php docs contributor. Then life moved on, and I have been absent for a long time. I’m also a committer on the Apache httpd project, where I have been a fairly active contributor to the docs for going on 30 years. And I used to be a regular in the php conference tour. But I think a lot of my older colleagues have moved on. It’s exciting to see a new generation of people here working on stuff.
I ran into so some old PHP friends at FOSSY this week, from a similar ancient time, and I was looking at the docs. It appears that reality has moved on from some of the docs, in particular the docs around installation on the Apache httpd. That, in turn, got me looking at some of the surrounding docs.
Anyways, I’ve opened a few PRs, and am rediscovering how the docs system fits together, and how to build and test my contributions. I’ve greatly appreciated the comments of reviewers.
Anyways, hopefully you’ll see more of me around here, if I can find time.

Welcome back! Compared with your long history in the PHP community, I’m relatively new here, so thank you for introducing yourself. It’s interesting to read about your history with PHP and Apache httpd.
It’s great to see experienced contributors returning, and I’m happy to see your PRs coming in. Thank you for everything you’ve contributed, both now and in the past. I hope we’ll see more of you whenever time permits.
