[Classique 2026] Come on and Slam

Identity

Description by the author: CobraBubbles 1793

2017-2019 was a period of huge change for the game, from the first ban list and rotation to the FFG cancellation to the first NSG Worlds. This year, at the Ciara Maxey Memorial Classique Side Event at EMEA 2026, we're going to revive some exciting decks and matchups from that period that have been largely forgotten by Netrunner history - until now.

After two rounds of tryouts at UK Megacities, I'm happy to announce that all the contenders were well-received enough to make it into the main event! We will have space for up to 32 players across four rounds of oldschool DSS, with exclusive prizes (details to come). This side event will run on the Sunday of EMEA, with sign-ups opening on Saturday - listen out for announcements on the day for details of how to nab your spot.

From 2018 Nationals: ClanaxX vs Come On And Slam

For many years, the the UK's marquee Classique events have been dedicated to the memory of our departed friend Ciara Maxey. This year, we're also remembering her through her most iconic deck! This Sportsmetal list is jammy HB at its finest, long before we had Seamless Launch - some of the best and purest fun you can have in Netrunner.

Matchup notes

IMPORTANT RULES WARNING: This matchup involves multiple cards that discard cards from HQ at random. The Runner does NOT get to see these cards! When you use Clan Vengeance or Hacktivist Meeting, do NOT flip them over! They go to Archives facedown.

Cards both players should read: Fairchild 3.0, Arella Salvatore, Ark Lockdown, Clan Vengeance, DDoS, Hacktivist Meeting

What the Runner is trying to do:

  • Mulligan for Zer0, and blast through your deck with Zer0 and MaxX to get your breakers in the heap and your economy running.
  • Contest the remote as often as possible. Stimhack is your best tool for this - don't be afraid to play it many times with Same Old Thing.
  • Disrupt with Clan Vengeance and Hacktivist Meeting when you can, and take shots at centrals if you can't crack the remote. Once you've bought time, play Levy AR Lab Access for more gas to try and close.

What the Corp is trying to do:

  • Always Be Jamming. Set up a 2+ ice remote early and jam agendas, Rashida Jaheem, NGO Front, Arella, whatever.
  • Get to 5 points fast, so you can threaten to close by fast advancing with Biotic Labor before the Runner is fully set up.
  • Remember that the Runner can use Clan Vengeance at any time on your turn. Pause between clicks and ask them for actions; if they don't bite, jam, if they do, draw up ASAP and try and jam anyway!

Things you might not notice:

  • Fisk Investment Seminar should only be played if you're going to pop Clan Vengeance on the same turn.
  • DDOS and D4v1d are good limited-use ways to crack a server; as Corp you can try and bluff to draw out these tools.
  • Ark Lockdown can create huge swings if the wrong cards get milled by MaxX. Look out for both copies of Levy, Stimhack or a breaker being in the heap.
