LoopBe30 provides up to 30 independent "invisible cables" that connect the MIDI output of one application to the MIDI input of another. Every port provides all 16 MIDI channels and can be used by multiple sending and receiving applications at the same time.
Near-Zero Latency.
LoopBe30 2.0 is a Windows MIDI Services transport for Windows 11. It provides low-latency MIDI 1.0 routing and remains compatible with legacy WinMM MIDI applications. Native x64 and ARM64 versions are available, and applications do not need any special libraries.
Adjustable Number of Ports – 0 to 30
Select only the number of ports you need, from 0 to 30. After the next reboot, only those ports are visible in your MIDI applications. This saves system resources and keeps application port lists manageable.
The number of ports is configured with the LoopBe30 Monitor in the system tray. The Monitor can also mute every MIDI port individually. Data sent to a muted port is discarded without reporting an error to the sending application. Manual mute settings are retained.
Powerful MIDI Shortcut / Feedback Detection.
A particularly strong feature of LoopBe30 2.0 is its powerful two-stage Shortcut / Feedback Detection. Protection runs directly inside the Windows MIDI Services transport, remains active when the LoopBe30 Monitor is closed, and monitors every port independently. When feedback is detected, only the affected port is muted, allowing the rest of your MIDI setup to continue normally.
The normal detector recognizes short repeating MIDI 1.0 patterns at high data rates. It triggers at 800 normalized bytes per second or more when a period of one to eight messages matches at least 90 percent, using at least 16 comparisons among the most recent 32 messages.
Complex feedback can mix new messages into the loop and hide a simple repeating pattern. LoopBe30 therefore includes an additional runaway safeguard. Traffic sustained at 8,000 normalized bytes per second for one full second mutes the affected port even when no short repeating pattern can be identified. This provides robust protection against both simple MIDI Thru loops and complex feedback involving several applications or ports.
A transport queue overload or MIDI delivery failure also safety-mutes only the affected port. The Monitor identifies the port in a notification and displays its data rate and strongest repeating pattern. The repetition detector analyzes MIDI 1.0 short messages; SysEx7 is not included in its pattern analysis.
For controlled setups that intentionally produce high-rate or strongly repeating MIDI traffic, Shortcut / Feedback Detection can be temporarily disabled in the LoopBe30 Monitor. Queue-overload and delivery-failure protection remain active. Re-enable feedback detection after completing the exceptional operation.
Faster than a Legacy Hardware Interface.
LoopBe30 is not restricted by the 31.25 kbit/s serial data rate of a traditional MIDI interface and real MIDI cable. Its asynchronous transport keeps sending and receiving applications independent while preserving the order of MIDI messages.
