Thank You for Marching

On Friday, August 28, 2026 — the 63rd anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom — thousands returned to the Lincoln Memorial for the March on Washington 2026: Defend the Vote. Convened by the National Action Network and the Drum Major Institute and led by Rev. Al Sharpton with Martin Luther King III and Arndrea Waters King, marchers stood shoulder to shoulder with labor, faith, Latino, voting rights and community organizations — and voices from Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Gov. Abigail Spanberger — to protect the right to vote, demand economic dignity, and defend equal opportunity for all.

To everyone who marched, organized, prayed, and showed up: thank you for empowering the movement. The work continues.
