entering this great new phase of my life where, when someone treats me like shit, instead of going "oh man I guess I'm a piece of shit" I can whole-heartedly go "christ alive, what is wrong with you? you can't treat people like that" and it may sound simple but it took a long time to get here and there's no fucking way I'm going back
i want to be clear that it still hurts. it still feels bad. it still makes me angry. the difference is, now when people mistreat me, I do not join the war on the side of the people who think I deserve it. if you are struggling to get to this point and you think getting there will deliver you to a zen-like state where being treated like shit becomes easy, I don't think that's possible. it's still shitty. But it's way easier when you believe in your own worth and not the bastards who're saying you're worthless.
