I think it’s reasonable to assume that the product is the thing you’re making. If you work by yourself that’s probably even true.

But if you’re working with other people, the product is the team.

It’s happy people working together in a common direction, which sounds obvious but turns out to be hard.

People are different and will move in different directions and have different needs.

People will go through different seasons and moods and challenges and not be consistent because they’re people.

Are you always the same?

Neither is anybody else.

People communicate in vastly different ways, but still need to understand one another and where they’re headed.

Leaders have the privilege and burden of setting expectations, whether they realize it or not.

There’s no healthy product without a healthy team to care for it.
