About me

I have 10 years of professional experience in the IT industry ranging from a software engineer to an engineering manager role with a strong focus on getting things done within and across teams. I have vast experience in mentoring and coaching, establishing and leading teams and building functional user friendly products. As a technical lead I’ve successfully built new products, dealt with technical transformation while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders, planning and coordinating across teams. Previously, I’ve been a software engineer in variety of areas like backend development with Kotlin and Spring Boot and Node.js, frontend development with React, React Native and Android, DevOps with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD and Crossplane which taught me to appreciate the advantages of CI/CD and GitOps. During my work I have used PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Elasticsearch and I have a very good understanding of GNU/Linux. Besides the technical skills I’m confident in my human skills as well, as I’ve had the chance to work in very diverse and capable teams and been able to communicate through the requirements and problems with my colleagues and the clients in English and Croatian. In my free time I also love to (in alphabetical order) bike, hike, listen to music, philosophize, play guitar, play video games, read books and run.

Currently, I’m working on making my on game and aspiring to become a solo indie game developer. I’ve developed several small games for various game jams visible on my Itch profile . At the same time I’m also developing a bigger project with more details coming soon.

As an Engineering Manager at Reev GmbH, I played an important role in strategically planning engineering resources, prioritizing feature development, and implementing methodologies that empowered the engineering team to consistently deliver high-quality software. I’ve established highly specialized teams to successfully handle billing and payment flows and customer facing teams to perfect the user experience, I’ve also led the team’s migration to a microservice architecture, enhancing system efficiency and scalability. I’ve also actively contributed in defining core engineering principles and nurturing an inclusive team culture.

With reev GmbH, I continued my previous efforts as well as organized a new branch of Reev in Zagreb, Croatia, led hiring efforts and led multiple teams spanning across backend, frontend, mobile and devops tasks, but also worked directly on ensuring scalability and high performance through period of rapid growth of our user base.

Work included development of Android applications and web services, alone and in a team. I have successfully implemented two Android projects and I am currently working on a project involving React Native for multiplatform development and TensorFlow for machine learning and object recognition.
