Antojitos
An easy and tasty tex-mex appetizer.
This is my copycat recipe of the Oven Baked Antojito from Montana’s, a Canadian chain restaurant. It consists of a tortilla wrap baked with a cheesy & spicy filling.
Ingredients
- 🐮 125g Cream Cheese (1/2 a Philadelphia Brick)
- 🧀 1 cup Grated Cheddar Cheese
- 🐔 2 tbsp Hot Sauce
- 🧄 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 🌶️ 1 jalepeno pepper, chopped
- 🌶️ 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 🥚 1 Egg
- 🌯 2 or 3 Flour Tortillas
- 🫒 1 tbsp Olive Oil
Instructions
- Warm Cream Cheese for easier mixing (optional).
- Add ingredients to a bowl, mix thoroughly.
- Spread the mix onto each tortilla, making a uniform layer.
- Carefully roll the tortillas into cylinders. Be gentle, the roll should be somewhat loose.
- Slice the cylinders into pucks, and place flat onto a baking tray pre-coated with olive oil.
- Apply a small amount of oil on the top and sides of the pucks.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
About Antojitos

Montana’s is a bar and grill style chain restaurant here in Canada. Their menu is standard american cuisine, and overtly so. The theme of the restaurants are a bit too on-the-nose and feels almost like a caricature of an american steak house. Country music will be playing. A fireplace will be lit. Old license plates, animal horns, and other western themed knick knacks will be strewn about. This isn’t a criticism by any means, its just worth mentioning that it’s all a bit hokey.
I used to go to Montana’s a lot with my family, and we really enjoyed it. We went for birthdays, graduations, and just because we were in the city for the afternoon. Prices were decent and the food was too and of course we’d always order the Antojitos.
I almost never eat restaraunt food anymore but I still make my own Antojitos every once-in-a-while.
