I NEED HIS AURA ADLKSDLASJNDL
WELCOME TO MY SITE! I'm faucet!
I've been trying to get into more games recently, so I've been playing Fire Emblem 11 with my partner. This means I haven't actually finished a single Fire Emblem game and Marth is already making me mad
Sorry Marth I used my brainrot towards you to motivate me to make a website
I'm faucet! (they/them)
I'm a digital artist, animator, and musician (I go to uni for oboe). I love tinkering with small mechanisms and making crafts.
I am passionate about retro video game preservation and digital privacy,
and am not supportive of corporations who want to control
digital life.
me in real
notice
I am frustrated with privacy concerns and the amount of bloat that companies
try to push on my devices to maximize profit and control over
my life.
These are some movements/news that I care about and want to bring your attention to.
Keep Android Open - Google will be locking down on non-Google approved apps on Android starting September 2026.
Giving Google control over Android apps is against its initial selling point over Apple, hurts independent developers,
and risks internet censorship.
Myrient Shutdown - Myrient, a legacy video game preservation site with direct downloads freely available, had shut down on
March 31st 2026. One of the reasons for closure was due to the increasing prices of RAM and storage devices from the demand for AI data centers.
Clippy Movement - A movement which encourages users to change their profile pictures to Clippy to bring
awareness to the many invasive and exploititve practices of big tech companies.
I have been making changes in my life to gain back control
over the tech that I own. I am a proud owner of a dumbphone, an mp3 player, multiple hacked eReaders,
and video game consoles with CFW. I still use some social media on
platforms I disagree with, but I have changed the way I interact with them to feel more comfortable.

After their redebut, I find myself missing VCHA
I reflect on one of my favourite girl groups and what it meant to me
Girlset (previously known as VCHA) is an American girl group founded by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records in 2023. The members of VCHA were formed through a survival show titled "America2Korea (A2K)". Two members had left the group by 2025, and the four remaining members soon redebuted as Girlset.
I was a huge VCHA fan since the very beginning. I had followed along with the survival show and literally all of my favourites (who didn't quit) made it into the group. I was in love with their cute, inspirational Barbie concept. Their music had themes of perseverance, and celebrating success (see Y.O.Universe, Ready for the World, Girls of the Year). Other songs (e.g. XO Call Me, Only One) featured innocent, exciting feelings towards love.
The music was cheesy with surface-level lyric meanings, and the group was criticized for being too "childish", but I LOVED IT. It was all straight faucetslop. At the time when their music was coming out, I was working towards my university auditions. Seeing VCHA--a group with members who are my age--perform fun, upbeat music about working hard to achieve your dreams, inspired and motivated me to do my best.
While I of course put the priorities of the health and rights of the girls at the forefront, and fully support Kaylee and KG in their future endeavours, I do miss this era because of what it did and what it continues to do to me when I look back at their music. Their concept was so cute man
Now in their rebrand as Girlset, while I do see many of these VCHA-esque themes of empowerment (Commas, Little Miss), it is kinda packaged differently. Instead of being at the forefront, these themes of success are layered in with new themes of feminism and more of a focus on dating. They now gear towards a more mature, Y2K street style.
I do love their new concept. It's confident, punchy, and cool. It tailors more towards the KPop-listening audience that actually listens to their music, instead of someone younger. Now that the girls seem to be given more creative freedom over their group's image, I think this is a nice shift for them.
I just miss VCHA sometimes.
I do listen to them when I can, but they don't have the same consistent replayability that their previous concepts had for me. I have a hard time relating to their lyrics (not big in the dating scene, not that big into going on dates with 'stupid boys')
All the moping about nostalgia aside, I am still an avid follower of the group. All of my favourite members are still in, so I still love supporting Girlset and find excitement in finding out what new concept they will try next.

Blaugust and small blogging challenge
I am participating in Blaugust this month and getting started with small, achievable goals.Hello everyone,
I have decided to participate in Blaugust. I have always wanted to blog but have been very perfectionistic about writing something that doesn't come off as "stiff", but I realized that holding back my thoughts had been keeping me from starting the habit of blogging regularly. I have decided that I want to share my thoughts, disjointed sentences and all.
The challenge I have set for myself is that I will try to write at least six sentences to publish every morning. I hope that this is achievable for the rest of this month. Starting new habits is very difficult for me. If I start with small goals, then it will hopefully snowball into something bigger!
I have a few longer posts that I might publish soon. I wanted to share my thoughts of Kamen Rider OOO and have also wanted to share my thoughts on Witch from Mercury.
Baroque oboe embouchure
I recently got my hands on a baroque oboe, and it's... different.Baroque oboe embouchure is much different than I expected. I was able to borrow a baroque oboe from my school for the upcoming school year, and everyone warned me that the instrument was going to be difficult since I had to learn new fingerings. It ended up not being the fingerings that got me, but the embouchure and air support.
For the setup that I have (this might vary between players and instuments), my embouchure has to be much more relaxed than what I'm used to on the modern oboe and other double reed instruments. This makes downward slurs much tricky since need careful management of your mouth cavity between notes. I'm used to playing at modest dynamics when playing modern oboe, but my teacher encourages me to keep way more support in my core and windstream in order for the notes to come out clearly. He also tells me to "open your throat" when playing, but he also said not to worry about that because students tend to over think it and be tense but now I'm thinking about it aaaa
When you lose interest in something, you abandon it entirely
I reflect on getting fixated on things, and them always coming back.I was filling out this Undertale quiz when I got the question, "When you lose interest in something, you abandon it entirely." I've noticed that while I might completely drop a fixation that I have, some things keep coming back to me. An example of this is Tetris. I was really big into playing on Tetris Friends and then Jstris before it shut down, and all of a sudden I burn out and never play it again. A few years later I spend hours watching livestreams of the CTWC, and a few years after another pause, I'm playing on Tetr.io until 3AM.
I am always into things in short, intense bursts, and then get back into them a year later. It's a shame that a lot of my interests that follow this trend are skill-based (drawing, rhythm games, etc) and require consistent practice to improve in the way I want to. What are more sustainable ways to engage in activities?
[NINJAGO] Thoughts on Enemy Lloyd
Enemy Lloyd is meant to be a manifestation of Lloyd's weaknesses. Lloyd's weaknesses that we barely saw in the series prior...Lloyd from LEGO Ninjago is one of my favourite characters in media ever. I get excited thinking about Enemy Lloyd for the angst potential but I felt that his appearance in DR S4 was not the emotional climax that it tried to play up to be.
Enemy Lloyd appears as part of the Ritual of Unrooting that is mandatory for Lloyd to complete to save the world from collapsing. A manifestation of their weaknesses is meant to prod at the Green Ninja's insecurities to test if they are fit to unlock their full potential. Enemy Lloyd does a good job at doing this, but I feel that the impact was diminished because despite Lloyd having mountains of expectations and responsibility as the fate of the world is in the Green Ninja's hands, Lloyd doesn't actually seem to care or show that he does throughout DR before it's spelled out for him.
Lloyd not showing that he GAF could either be:
- oblivious to the weight
- trying to cope and convince himself that everything is fine
- just a blind optimist
If I choose to interpret Enemy Lloyd's scenes as not the emotional climax of Lloyd feeling the weight of his destiny, but one of the things that help Lloyd feel it, things make a lot more sense. Lloyd ended up failing that trial, after all.
Enemy Lloyd says this: "You still don't know what being the Green Ninja really means. How deluded and full of yourself do you have to be, to think you can master a power you can't even understand! It's only a matter of time before the entire world falls because of your failiures as a leader. And the worst thing? You're too clouded by your own expectations to realize you can't handle it. That's what will destroy your friends."
I think we need to see Lloyd get to his breaking point.
Use your pens while they still have life
Ballpoint pens have a fickle lifespan. Use them while you still can.I try a lot of tricks to get my dry ballpoint pens to work again. I've held the tips of pens up to a flame to loosen the dry ink and have drawn on erasers or my hands to try to bring them back to life. Sometimes, a miracle happens and it works, but sometimes it doesn't and the pen is rendered useless for its original task.
To prevent grieving over my favourite pens not working anymore, I started to not use my pens at all. The rationale is to keep it from getting exposed to the air which would make it dry out faster, I guess. I've realized that this method sucks and my pens are going to dry out whether I like it or not.
Ballpoint pens come with a full ink cartridge and so much opportunity to get use out of it. I should take advantage of this and use the pens that I have, instead of shielding it from the outside world.
Side note: I don't use ballpoint very often, which is maybe another reason why I would neglect them. My favourite everyday pen is a 0.5mm Pigma Micron, which I also use for inking art. (is it sacrilegious to use art pens for everyday writing?)
