(1983)
Riding the coattails of yesterday’s band, the B-52’s, today I will feature another band who emerged onto the Athens, Georgia music scene around the same time. Although never as popular as the B-52’s, Pylon is widely considered to be heavily influential on the 80’s and 90’s underground and alternative music scenes. Fellow Georgians, REM, have often cited them as one of their favorite rock bands.
Only releasing three full length albums over the course of the band’s history, Pylon disbanded and reformed a couple of times after seeing a resurgence in interest in their music.
Chomp is their second album, and below is a link to the fifth track, Crazy. A reissued version of the album with bonus tracks can be found on Spotify, entitled Chomp More.
