_03: reflections
i swear i start all of the entries like this (before they inevitably get out of hand and away from me) but this one truly will be short. i just wish to recap what i've taken away from today, in dot point form, so my morrow self can take these small reflections with them and apply it to how they live that day.
some reflections:
- sometimes all it takes is to consistently touch base with someone + treat them like "just another person" rather than idolizing or worshipping them, for them to come to see you as a friend. sometimes even powerful/"higher-up" people want to be understood, to have their shared humanity recognised and acknowledged.
- if to do lists are ineffectively running or even ruining your life, try and reframe them into Success lists.
- take your to do list, and strip it back to your values. mark up a new page with which of these would really constitute success for you on a personal level, in your mind?
- rank these in order of importance. don't forget to include areas like maintaining/building relationships with family/friends, health & down time.
- take the top 5, max, and circle them as your key priorities for the next
Xweeks/months/year (withXdetermined by scoping a realistic, projected timeline of any of the finite success goals involves - ones that can be marked as "finished" - but, doubled. yes, it will take twice as long as you anticipate) - shelve the rest in a safe space, like a notes file/book, and come back to them once you've achieved your current success goals.
- "And before going to bed, she blew out the little flame of the day. What does it look like to let a day burn forever? Perhaps that's what it is to lose memory. To let a day burn to the wick and then somehow then leap from the glass and burn all the things surrounding it. So it's no longer a little flame but a fire that spreads and takes up the objects of our past, present and future." - The Hearing Test
