today was a day. i wrote, thought and talked a lot. yet i am completely devoid of energy to even begin to reflect on it. bewildered by systems that i can't even begin to comprehend. it all feels like too much right now.
as such, i present today's data in the largely unrefined form, below.
take this as your flag to rest. none of this is worth killing yourself over. just do what you can in the moment. healing takes energy and god you're sapping yourself dry of that. so be kinder, little one. inside of me. be a little kinder to your innie.

There might not be a viable life in the intersection of the Venn diagram of demands you place on yourself.

these words I write are little pieces of me. first, there were only ideas. but in my hands, stories, and arguments, and analysis live.
if we know as artists that not consuming other art is not an option, let's stop putting so much energy into shaming ourselves for consumption. instead, put it into making sure that if you are going to consume this material, that you are there as you are consuming it. to be active as you consume it. connect ideas, feelings, fleeting thoughts, as you watch. that's the difference between mindless consumption and consumption that makes creating possible.
put things you consume into your own words, as a test to how well you've retained this information.
note the source material to contextualised the content, then return to them with your own, decontextualised notes to process and grow upon them.
we never sit down to create something with a full understanding of what it is that we want to create at the start. we have to go through the long, laborious, sometimes boring, sometimes embarassing process of creating it, and of finding our own interests, curiosities and questions along the way.
because if you're writing solely for someone else, you're not gardening because you want to, but you're gardening because you know people will visit the house/front yard.

- topology over timelines - not chronological, but a systematic linking of ideas.
- continuous growth, never being "finished".
- imperfection of learning in public, and by design.
- playful, personal and experimental in nature. you can plant the same seeds as your neighbour, but you'll always end up with a different arrangement of plants.
- intercropping and content diversity - don't limit yourself to just one medium / family of plants!
- independent ownership - your patch of the web, that is just yours. don't write solely for someone else, but for you.
