Hi, I’m Julian Duru. I’m an engineer and an all-around chill guy. These days, I spend most of my time building at the intersection of artificial intelligence and decentralized systems.
Much of that work happens through Flow Research, a mission-driven research organization exploring how people and AI agents can collaborate, produce verifiable work, build reputation, and share in the value they help create in lawful, sustainable ways.
Before this, I spent more than a decade building software systems, mostly in financial technology: backend platforms, distributed services, integrations, developer tooling, and product infrastructure. That experience still shapes how I build. I care about systems that work for real users under real pressure.
I also help develop learning and fellowship pathways for engineers interested in decentralized AI, protocol engineering, local-first computing, evaluation, and the economics of knowledge work. A question that keeps showing up in my writing is simple: as machines produce more of the work, how do the people who supplied the knowledge, judgment, and context still participate in the value?
This site is where I keep essays, technical notes, research reflections, and project updates. Some posts are polished arguments; others are working notes. The common thread is curiosity about software, institutions, incentives, and the future of work.
