I have mixed feelings about this one. I both like and dislike it.
Reasons I like it
Loki
Loki was by far the best part of this film for me (and most people, I’d imagine). His reaction to his mother dying made my cry, and dropping the illusion to reveal how affected he was broke my heart. Especially when you realize the last time he spoke with her, he told her she wasn’t his mother.

He's not my father!
FRIGGA
Then am I not your mother?
LOKI
You're not.
Imagine saying something like that to someone you love out of anger & pride, only for that to end up being the last thing you ever said to that loved one.
The Dark Elves
I just thought they were cool. Especially the masks, those were pretty scary looking.
Reasons I dislike it
Malekith
The Dark Elves are cool I guess, but I just didn’t think they were very interesting. I firmly believe what makes a good villain is relatability - it’s what made Loki a great villain in the first Thor film. After watching this film, and I’d comfortably bet money on this, no one related to the Dark Elves. No one. In my opinion, that makes for a boring villain.
The Aether
I know it’s an infinity stone, but to be honest, I don’t really know what the Aether does. Like, what is it? The characters keep reminding you that “it’s so powerful” but I what did it do? I could be outing my short attention span, but I don’t recall properly learning what the stuff does, despite them “explaining” it.
Thor & Jane
I can’t pinpoint it, but I feel absolutely nothing for the Thor x Jane ship. I didn’t in the first film either to be honest, and this film didn’t help at all. Honestly, I find Natalie Portman’s acting a little stale, and that combined with a lack of chemistry between the actors/characters, I’m just not invested.
That’s all I have to say about the film. I didn’t really like it. Sorry :/
