Here are a few simple apps that I have created for fun.

Target Macro Matcher

The idea behind this app is that for various health protocols, it is important to try to meet specific macro-nutrient (macros - protein, fats and carbs) ratios in a given meal.

The bodybuilder / health guru way to achieve this is to combine super lean meat that are mainly protein like chicken breast and then other foods that are almost pure fats, like olive oil. They combine them to get the desired macro ratio. Need more protein, add more chicken, less fat, take some olive oil out of the meal.

This seemed crazy to me. Why make me eat dry chicken and then put fat on it, rather than just eat a fattier meat that tastes better.

So I decided to make a macro-nutrient matcher, an app that takes the ingredients that you are considering for a meal and your target macro-nutrient ratios and attempts to mix and match the ingredients create your perfect meal.

Reptile Print

reptileprint.com

The idea of this site is that in the reptile keeping hobby, a lot of physical things are needed to adequately house one's pets. A lot of the time those things are either expensive pet-specific things (like expensive UV bulbs) or repurposed things (like deli-cups).

But sometimes you need a specific thing that doesn't exist.

That was the case for me with an idea that I had for a vent to put into the side of a cage. I wanted something that was able to account for slight thickness variations, was secure and could not get pushed out and was easy to print.

I came up with this design that would screw in like a nut and bolt.

It worked really well and I showed some friends and they wanted variations for a very different cage type, with much thicker material and larger openings.
I updated the design and sent them the file.

It made me think though that it would be great if there was a way to have common designs like this that were easy to customize and generate the STL file for you to print. So that people could have access to the designs without having to know CAD. And I could offer to print if for them if they didn't have a 3D Printer.
