Sorry I can’t find any other words to describe my reaction. I’m just overall shocked.

First of all they’re really going for a Loki/Loki? Really? Wow! I never thought  they would dare to go for such a controversial pairing! I mean this is Disney we’re talking about! Selfcest? Wow! Have to praise their courage regardless of how I feel about it.

And tbh I’m not sure how I feel about it. It feels a bit rushed story wise imo. But other than that I have no problem with it. I mean I definitely preferred them to be friends. But I’m OK with romance too.

Now about the biggest beef I have with this episode:

HOW DARE YOU CALL LOKI A NARCISSIST?

Like do the writers even know what narcissism is? Have they watched the movies? Do they even understand this character and what motivates him?

First of all seeking attention because someone is afraid to be alone is not narcissism! Getting narcissistic supply through attention seeking is about maintaining their false image and ego.

Second, Loki was the scapegoat of his family. Always silenced, and othered and blamed and mocked as we’ve seen in the first movie which the writers didn’t bother to watch. No wait, we’ve seen more of it in TDW too. But no, all the writers got from that was Loki killing his mother!

How naive I was to think that they’re going to address Loki’s actual issues. No, instead they’re feeding us the lies and retcon of TR. That Loki is narcissistic, power hungry villain who hurts people because it’s fun! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!

And yes, they’re showing Sylvie to be more competent. They’re focusing on this new character instead of Loki.

There were moments in the episode that I liked. But I HATE the narrative farming of the show. I HATE Loki’s ooc characterization in it. No, it’s not as bad as TR. IT IS WORSE. Because it’s supposed to be about Loki this time. Instead they don’t hesitate to mock and humiliate Loki in every chance they get.

I have no hope anymore.

a funny thing about having a Problematic Blorbo is that you'll periodically come across a post along the lines of "um let's not forget that [Blorbo] is a bad person..." listing their various crimes, and if you have a modicum of intellectual honesty you find yourself nodding along and saying yeah it's true... but it's the greyness of their character that makes them so compelling... At the same time though you have a little Saul Goodman in your ear going "your honor in their defense: who cares like omfgggg who caresssssss like come onnnnnn"
