Slideshare is a presentation hosting/sharing silo, that was acquired by LinkedIn, which is owned by Microsoft. Scribd purchased Slideshare from Microsoft and has run it since September 2020. The current iteration requires JavaScript just to navigate to next/previous slides and other site navigation.

Spring 2026 Slideshare had a large rebuild to bring back functionality and fix a lot of bugs and cruft from years of inattention.

Slide decks can be uploaded, are converted to images and can then be viewed in the browser.

js;dn

SlideShare heavily (and often unnecessarily) depends on Javascript, e.g. just to navigate to next/previous slides. Thus js;dn (Javascript Required; Didn't Navigate), related to but not quite as bad as js;dr.
