The 38th Symposium on Implementation and Application of Functional Languages (IFL26) is held in Gothenburg, Sweden and is an opportunity for researchers to present and discuss new ideas and concepts, work in progress, and publication-ripe results related to the implementation and application of functional programming languages and function-oriented programming. Mary Sheeran

Mary Sheeran is Professor Emerita of Computer Science at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg. Her research spans functional programming, hardware design, and formal methods.

Simon Peyton Jones

Simon Peyton Jones

Simon Peyton Jones is an Engineering Fellow at Epic Games. He was previously a researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge and a professor at the University of Glasgow. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society, an Honorary Professor at Glasgow, and an Honorary Distinguished Fellow of the Cambridge University Department of Computer Science and Technology.

His work focuses on the design, implementation, and application of lazy functional languages, especially Haskell and the Glasgow Haskell Compiler. He also chairs Computing at School, a group that has played a central role in the reform of computing education in England.
