It’s been a wild few months!

I’m finding that I’m completely disinterested in the tech industry. I like the craft of building websites, and I’m good at it. But I no longer have a passion for the industry, new technology, and so on like I used to.

Instead, I find myself heavily focused on mutual aid, travel, and gardening.

After hitting a bunch of hurdles with starting a community fridge, a well-loved business owner in town offered her office as a host location. It’s right in town center, with a spacious sidewalk and great lighting. It’s honestly the perfect location.

We managed to raise over $2k in just two days, which we used to purchase an outdoor-rated fridge. We’re in the process of building an enclosure, and as soon as that’s done, we can open the fridge for use.

While I was waiting for a location to come through, I also built a community farm stand that I setup at my house.

In February, we took an RV down to FL and back. We’ve done this trip a few times before, but this time, pretty much every system that could have failed in the camper did. It was still fun, but its clear we’ve outgrown our small travel trailer.

I’m currently hyperfixated on building a large camper for a flatbed truck.

Since December, I’ve been actively involved in direct action helping unhoused people. I’ve been providing food, clothes, and other necessities for a few new friends in my area. During our trip, I also spent some time with an unhoused vet I met at a rest stop.

At a time when everything is awful, mutual aid nurtures my mind, body, and soul like nothing else ever has.

I’m excited to see how I can do more of it, reach more people, and inspire others to do the same. This feels like what the next chapter of my life is meant to be.
