Support
I created FigCat with the aim of providing a free, useful resource to anyone who shares my interests. If you believe I’m on the right track, there are several ways you can help me continue with this project.
Spread the word!
I suspect there are people out there who would find FigCat useful but simply don’t know it exists, and I have no idea how to reach them.
So, if you know anyone who might be interested in my lists, please tell them about FigCat! If you’re part of a community focused on a topic I cover, consider sharing a link with the other members. And if you have a personal website, perhaps you could add a link to FigCat there.
Share your thoughts!
I designed FigCat to be the kind of website I would enjoy visiting. I have some strong opinions about what such a site should look like, and my goal was never to appeal to the broadest possible audience.
That said, while I’m reasonably pleased with how things turned out, I have very little idea how it works for other people. If you can spare a moment, please let me know what you think about FigCat in one of the following ways:
- fill out an anonymous feedback survey; or
- simply email me at [email protected] with any comments or suggestions.
“Buy me a coffee”!
Compiling and updating these lists takes a great deal of time – more than you might expect, and more than I feel comfortable admitting.
On the one hand, you could argue that I only have myself to blame, since I chose the most roundabout and laborious method of data collection possible. On the other hand, if all this hard work ends up being useful to someone, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want some material compensation for it.
It would be demeaning to both of us if I asked you for a monetary donation in recognition of my contributions. Fortunately, we can avoid the awkwardness of what is essentially begging by pretending that what you’re doing is “buying me a coffee”. This convenient fiction is made possible by a service called Ko-fi, and it’s as simple as following this link: buy me a coffee!
By “buying me a coffee”, you’ll earn my heartfelt gratitude and give me a much-needed boost of confidence in my efforts to keep FigCat running. At the moment, I don’t intend to offer any extra benefits in return; however, if you attach a suggestion (for example, if you’d like to see one of the older lists updated), I promise to consider it very seriously.
