Get in touch

I am Martin Paul Eve, Professor of Literature, Technology and Publishing at Birkbeck, University of London, and Technical Lead of Knowledge Commons at MESH Research, Michigan State University. I am the person responsible for this website and for responding to enquiries about it.

The best way to reach me is by email. My preferred address is martin@eve.gd, and you are welcome to write to me there about anything on this site. The full address, in plain text, is martin@eve.gd.

If your enquiry relates to a specific institution, you can also write to me at:

You can also find me on Bluesky at @eve.gd. My ORCID identifier is 0000-0002-5589-8511.

Because this is a static website, there is no contact form to fill in. Instead, the quickest route is to use this pre-addressed link, which opens a new message with the subject line already filled in: Send me an email about this website.

Response times

I read my own email and reply personally. I aim to reply within 10 working days of receiving your message. During periods of leave or heavy teaching this may occasionally take a little longer, but you can expect an acknowledgement within that window. If you do not hear back from me within that window, it is possible that I have had a health emergency and am in hospital (I have kidney failure and severe immunodeficiency).

Complaints and feedback

If something on this site is wrong, unclear, or you wish to raise a concern, I want to hear about it. Please follow these steps:

  1. Email me at martin@eve.gd with the subject line “Complaint or feedback”, describing the issue and, where relevant, the page or web address it concerns.
  2. I will acknowledge your message within 10 working days and let you know how I intend to look into it.
  3. I will then investigate and send you a substantive reply, explaining what I have found and what, if anything, I will change.
  4. If you are not satisfied with my response, you may escalate the matter. For issues connected to my work at Birkbeck, you can contact the College directly; for issues connected to Michigan State University, you can contact MESH Research. I will provide the appropriate contact details on request.

Appeals

If I make a decision you disagree with, such as declining a correction request or a request to amend content, you can ask me to reconsider it. Please reply to my message, or email me at martin@eve.gd with the subject line “Request to reconsider”, and set out why you think the decision should change and any new information I should take into account. I will review your request afresh and reply within 10 working days with my reconsidered decision and the reasons for it.
