Tex Avery was an American animator, director, and voice actor. He directed and produced many cartoon shorts during the Golden Age of Animation, mostly for MGM and Warner Bros., and helped create famous characters, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, and Droopy.

He was the son of Mary Augusta “Jessie” (Bean) and George Walton Avery. He had two children with his former wife Patricia Johnson.

Tex’s paternal grandfather was Needham Avery (the son of John Walton Avery/Avera and Elizabeth Brannon Tomme/Tommey). Needham was born in Georgia. John was born in Georgia, the son of Needham Avery/Avera and Martha Hughes Walton.
