Dr. Dre is an American rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur. He is a member of group The ICU. He was a member electro group World Class Wreckin’ Cru; and hip hop group N.W.A., which also included Ice Cube and Eazy-E. He is also known as Dre, Brickhard, and The Mechanic.

He is a cousin of hip-hop producer and rapper Sir Jinx (born Anthony D. Wheaton). His step-brother is rapper, record producer, and DJ Warren G (born Warren Griffin III), and his step-nephew is professional football player Olaijah Griffin.

He has a son, rapper Hood Surgeon, with Cassandra Joy Greene; three children with his former partner La Tanya Danielle Young; a son with Jenita Porter; a son with his former partner, singer Michel’le; and two children with his former wife Nicole Plotzker.

Dr. Dre’s maternal grandfather’s surname appears to have been Silverson.
