I would like to create navigation templates for groups of related articles that currently lack them and use AWB to add those templates where appropriate. I have not created navigation templates before, but I am familiar with Wikipedia’s policies and would take care to review my work and ensure edits are appropriate. I understand if more experience with this type of maintenance work is needed before being granted the permission. If granted, I would use AWB carefully and review each edit before saving. Mascius (talk) 19:49, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
Not done Sorry, but I'd like to see you actually create a template before you start adding them to articles. Otherwise this request doesn't make it obvious what kind of navigation templates you're creating - and navboxes and sidebars are far from uncontroversial. -- Reconrabbit (talk) 14:42, 26 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Reconrabbit: The only template creation I've considered is breaking up navboxes that are becoming too long as we turn wikilinks blue. I think that's considered a beneficial act by the linked guideline. I can attempt to do a few manually and see how it goes. Mascius (talk) 13:09, 27 August 2026 (UTC)
- Maybe I've missed it? I'd like to see at least one of these manual actions before granting AWB access. -- Reconrabbit (talk) 13:38, 27 August 2026 (UTC)

Hi there, I would like to use AWB to help speed up edits replacing the deprecated |alma_mater= parameter from some infoboxes. Here are some examples of the type of edit I have made manualy, , and here is an example of another user who has used AWB to make these types of edits HaphazardBinBag (talk) 21:26, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

I already have some experience with making changes using semi-automatic tools (and even my automatic bot) I build myself with PyWikiBot, but it would be a lot easier if I didn't have to write an entire program each time I want to make new edits.
I would use AWB to help me add add navboxes I create to various pages in a category, fix duplicated and deprecated parameters in templates, and test AWB scripts that I may submit BRFAs for as FlammableBot tasks in the future. FlammablePizza (talk) 23:32, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I recently saw this tool pop while looking at my watchlist and I decided I kind of need this. I make articles and heavily expand articles during my pasttime, and sometimes wrong grammar slips by whenever I make/edit these articles. One of the hardest ones to spot are the typos and double letters. I would mostly use the AWB just so I could check the grammar on the articles I've edited and some others as well. This is just so that not another editor has to fix a typo I made for some time ago. If you would like some more information, I would happily oblige. (Here are my edits statistics btw) DoNothingEveryday (talk) 09:08, 5 August 2026 (UTC)

I request the use of AWB to perform the following tasks:
- Add archive-url, archive-date, and url-status to references with dead or substantially changed/deviated URLs, using an appropriate web archive where available.
- Find duplicate references and consolidate them by replacing repeated full citations with named references (
<ref name="..."/>.Miria~01 (talk) 23:02, 9 August 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request for AWB perm to do mass copyediting, such as uncontroversial typo-fixing. I have carefully read Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser, Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/User manual, and Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage/Guide, so I will check each diff to avoid cosmetic edits and respect the varieties of English. I would like to use AutoWikiBrowser to quickly add and remove categories; I see many articles that are not categorized specifically. I also have been using AWB to add categories on idwiki. ⚔Fabius History⚔ (Salve!) 08:26, 19 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Fabius History: I'm going to mark this as
not done because of your edit count, which falls below the either 250 non-automated mainspace edits or 500 total mainspace edits
requirement on enwiki, as outlined above. You may want to consider HotCat or Cat-a-lot which are helpful for category management here. Staraction (talk · contribs) 04:42, 27 August 2026 (UTC)

At the moment, I would like to use AutoWikiBrowser to make repetitive edits for copyedit purposes such as typos and bad grammar. I also plan to use this tool to find and edit broken or badly formatted references that are repetitively used in articles having a higher prose length. Thanks. I would like to request AWB permissions to help streamline my typo correction/copyediting work. Currently, I manually patrol common typos like duplicated words and incorrect ordinals (e.g. 3th vs 3rd), many of which are often unambiguous errors, and AWB would make that workflow significantly easier. I reviewed the relevant guidelines on the responsible use of AWB and related tools before making this request. Thank you! Jamaso (talk) 22:06, 20 August 2026 (UTC)

I would like to fix a bunch of articles that list adjacent places (e.g. Caledonia, New York) by replacing with Template:Adjacent communities. Can be done with regex. Also would like AWB for all the other neat things it can do, such as adding new categories and navboxes I made to loads of articles (I did this manually with Category:Lists of commemorative coins of the United States and Template:Nepalese currency recently). Hi! :D
I'd like to have AWB/JWB access to do large scale noncontroversial edits such as mass typo fixing and template maintainance. I already have experience with semi-automated editing tools and regex, and have read WP:AWB and related subpages. enbi [they/them] • [talk] 23:10, 24 August 2026 (UTC)

Hi I know I have under 250 edits on this account, but I have used various accounts throughout the years I'm confident exceed 250. I want to use AWB to create lists of pages with the Empty section template to update sections that have been empty for a long time by either removing the sections (>5 years say), or providing some additional information if it is in my realm of expertise. I don't think that would be particularly controversial. Thank you! Elirockenbeck1 (talk) 19:57, 25 August 2026 (UTC)
