Tentacled monsters

[edit]

After closure of Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2026_May_14#Category:Fiction_about_tentacled_monsters, all of the former subcategories of the nominated category still exist, e.g. Category:Comics about tentacled monsters, because the subcategories were not nominated. I am not sure if that was your intention. Marcocapelle (talk) 20:07, 23 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

It wasn't, the nomination stated that all subcategories would be included. @Tarlby: Please also list the subcategories for merging as people voted for, thanks. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 21:45, 23 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Whoops

[edit]

Sorry about this. Looks like I inadvertently edited an older diff instead of just fixing the DISPLAYTITLE conflict in the current revision. My bad. Paradoctor (talk) 13:12, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Half Moon Bay (Ottawa)

[edit]

You failed my review of Half Moon Bay (Ottawa) I disagree, a populated, legally recognized place is typically presumed to be notable, even if their population is very low and the population here is above 15,000 see Wikipedia:Notability (geographic features). Theroadislong (talk) 12:36, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

First of all, is it actually a legally recognized place? It just seems like a small subdivision to me, meaning NPLACE doesn't apply and only GNG applies.
Even if it does count as a legally recognized place, page reviewers have the responsibility to check if there is somewhere it can be merged before approval rather than just approving new and potentially unencyclopedic pages offhand. If the page is better off merged, this will cause problems later. In this case, Barrhaven seems like a clear merge target, due to the short length and major WP:OVERLAP between the two pages. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 12:44, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

AfC August Backlog Drive: Only ten days left!

[edit]
Our pending drafts!

Hi Zxcvbnm, thanks for participating in the Articles for Creation August Backlog Drive! We've done amazing work so far, dropping the backlog by more than 3000 drafts already. We have around 1300 drafts outstanding, and we need your help to get that down to zero in the next 10 days. We can do this, but we need all hands on deck to help make it happen – if everyone who signed up to the drive reviewed just 1–2 drafts a day for the next ten days, we'd be down to zero in no time! A list of the pending drafts can be found at WP:AFCSORT, where you can select submissions in your area of interest, or you can find a random submission here. Thank you so much for your work so far, and happy reviewing! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:20, 21 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Pi Studios page deletion

[edit]

Hello, I realize this has been over a year since you deleted the page for Pi Studios (June 30 2025), but could you give me the reason for its deletion? I was a founder at Pi, and we were instrumental in the development of many of the Call of Duty series of games as well as significant development in the Rock Band and Quake franchises. I was trying to show my kids what their dad had devoted a decade of his life to and *poof*. Gone.

I've never requested review for a deleted page before. The resources I could find indicated I should contact the admin who deleted is. I hope this is the appropriate place to do that. Thank you. El Krem (talk) 02:16, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I didn't delete it, but I may have placed the proposed deletion notice. I don't know, since the page history is also gone.
While you may request to get it back at WP:REFUND, which is a much better idea than trying to directly contact an admin about it, keep in mind that if it fails the criteria at WP:NCORP/WP:CORPDEPTH, it will get deleted again. That requires the company to have been directly discussed in sources, not just their games, since a company is not the same as an individual creator with regards to assumed notability. Wikipedia is not an advertisement, so if your company is still operational, a company website may be a better place to showcase achievements. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 02:48, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately, the company shut down in 2011, so the website is also gone. Thanks for your advice on how to pursue an undeletion. El Krem (talk) 13:23, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
