Wii Party
[edit]Why are Wii Party and Wii Party U both stated as standalone games on the template? Shouldn't they both be stated as their own series? 2603:6010:8B00:44FF:D065:673D:E585:ED16 (talk) 20:50, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
Reason
[edit]@User:oinkers42 The reason was clearly stated. Your change "interferes with legibility". Would you kindly undo your revert so that the template may remain legible for others? TPI81AF (talk) 16:23, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- The template is made less legible by your changes. (Oinkers42) (talk) 16:30, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- It is not. My version neatly arranges all the titles in a logical and consistent manner. TPI81AF (talk) 16:32, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- First, WP:OWN. Second, the current version of the navbox already does that. (Oinkers42) (talk) 16:33, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- I wholly agree that you do not own this template nor any of the other templates. Your version (the current version of the navbox) (FYI My and Your are used for brevity and not to imply ownership) inconsistently categorizes Wii Chess, etc. into "standalone games". It also inconsistently removes the Wii prefix. It also has several lines with only one or two entries on them, occupying significantly more space than my version. TPI81AF (talk) 16:44, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- Wii Chess is a standalone game as it does not have any direct sequels (for instance, there is not a Wii Chess U). The Wii prefix is removed for consistency within the series (for instance, Wii Sports is followed up by two sequels, Resort, and Club), this being a common formatting technique in navboxes. Finally, your (using for brevity) version seemingly creates confusion on whether the linked article is the Wii Sports game or the Wii Sports series, which mine (again, brevity) avoids. It also creates the problem of difficult to click one character links (same with the Wii U pipe-link). (Oinkers42) (talk) 16:54, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- The "Wii Sports series" does not have a dedicated article, nor is it linked in your template. What ambiguity you are avoiding here is entirely lost on me. In mine Wii Sports is listed under Games, which makes it clear that it refers to a specific game. In mine the Wii prefix may be entirely and consistently omitted as none of the Wii titles are solely titled "Wii".
- P.S. When you have the time, please respond to your pings in the other template talk pages. TPI81AF (talk) 17:33, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
