Separate fraudulent experiments and research on this subject from that which is considered legitimate, i.e., that which is accepted as valid by the scientific community. The two categories (exposed fraud and legitimate science) should be listed in different sections under different titles. Lumping fraudulent research together with valid research may give the impression that all legitimate scientists reject the existence of life after death or, even worse, consider the very question absurd. If there is a consensus among scientists that the question of life after death is absurd, then research demonstrating the validity of this assertion should be offered. They are reliable sources to events that have taken place and are in the public record. I could have cited the New York Time article on this, but it is behind a paywall. See https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/21/style/robert-bigelow-UFOs-life-after-death.html. From Wikipedia's guidance on reliable sources: "News reporting from well-established news outlets is generally considered to be reliable for statements of fact." It's not a "puff piece," but reporting on actual events. My update was intended to show that research on the afterlife continues within parapsychology. This may not be specific to the Hinduism section, but is the only section that I checked at the moment. There were a number of challenging and confusing grammar choices that I revised while trying to maintain the content presented by whomever wrote this section. That said, there are very few actual citations in this section, and much of it may be original research / synthesis, or even based on just a single source or two, when Hinduism is famously an extremely rich and diverse religious community with a lot of different views on such matters.
While the material presented lines up with my own understanding of Hindu afterlife and rebirth, I am by no means an expert on this topic and only provided fixes based on readability, not content. The only substantive changes I've made are: (1) linking a few already existant Wiki articles that were described but not linked to; and (2) trying to couch a few authoritative statements with phrases such as "in this view / in this tradition" – phrase that were already in use by the section to try to disambiguate the philosophical & mythical views discussed.
Rather than deleting the entire section, I would suggest that this needs a significant overhaul to identify WHICH Hindu traditions it is currently reflecting and to introduced at least a half dozen more citations including those to other Hindu afterlife traditions.
