Gurpartap Singh is an Indian rower. He was part of India's men's eight team that won the silver medal at the 2025 Asian Rowing Championships in Hai Phong, Vietnam.[1][2][3] He also won gold in the men's quadruple sculls at the 2024 Senior National Rowing Championships[4][5] and bronze in the men's single sculls at the 2025 National Games.[6][7]

Early life and education

Singh is from Khojala village in Gurdaspur district, Punjab. He attended Shri Guru Ram Dass Modern School and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lovely Professional University.[7]

Military career

Singh joined the Indian Army in 2017 and later took up rowing. He trained at the Army Rowing Node in Pune and has represented Army teams in national competitions.[7][8]

Career

Singh won a gold medal in the open men's pair event at the 4th National Indoor Rowing Championships in Patna in 2019.[9] He later won the bronze medal in the men's double sculls at the 39th Senior National Rowing Championships in 2022.[10]

At the 6th National Indoor Rowing Championships in Pune in 2023, Singh won a gold medal in the open men's pair alongside Karamjit Singh and a silver medal in the open mixed fours.[11] The following year, he won a silver medal in the men's double sculls with Ravi while representing the Army at the 25th Open Sprint National Rowing Championships.[12] He was also part of the Army crew that won the men's quadruple sculls at the 41st Senior National Rowing Championships in Pune.[13][14]

In 2025, Singh won the bronze medal in the men's single sculls at the 2025 National Games in Uttarakhand.[15][16] Later he won silver medal in the men's quadruple sculls as part of the Army crew at the 42nd Senior National Rowing Championships in Bhopal.[17]

He represented India at the 2025 Asian Rowing Championships in Hai Phong, Vietnam, where the men's eight crew won the silver medal.[18][1][3]
