Category:Post-Columbian Native American cuisine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Neo-Native American cuisine. This category should only contain foods eaten and dishes invented after colonial contact (both direct and indirect). This includes foods found on the land, but not eaten by any known tribe until European contact.

This does not include foods which some tribes ate prior to colonial contact, but which were not eaten by others until after contact. This also does not include non-Native American-derived dishes that contemporary Native Americans consume in great quantities (such as American cuisine).

This specific page includes widespread dishes and ingredients, generally eaten by multiple modern day cultural areas. Foods that are generally limited to a single cultural area belong in their own specific subcategory.
