My Linux experience started out many years ago with Caldera and Mandrake, progressed through an extended period of Red Hat/Centos use, and has now settled primarily on Debian stable and its variants (after Kali taught me that rolling distributions are "not my thing"). Currently, my Linux machines include two Linux servers (running Rocky and Q4OS), three laptops (running Debian, Parrot, and RefreshOS), and an Arch based VM (viz. KDE Linux alpha). It's a bizarre mix, but for me, Linux is like Baskin-Robbins ice cream (32 flavors and they're all good). Also, I've become accustomed to "co-existence" as an "unpleasant necessity", since my family members continue to run MS-Windows on their laptops. I recently had to re-purpose an old Gen2 ThinkPad X1 Yoga, so I thought I'd give RefreshOS a whirl. Although some reviewers have questioned the distribution's peculiar configuration choices, I found that switching back to a more Debian-like configuration (e.g. Dolphin and Konsole) is a trivial exercise (since they're already installed at the outset). The selection of Brave for the default browser was a plus for me (and served as partial motivation for trying this distro). Although my favorite remains Debian stable/KDE Plasma, I would give RefreshOS a higher score than what it has received from some of the other reviewers here. Was this review helpful? По моему мнению это один из самых красивых и современных дистрибутивов.Никому не нужны «последние и лучшие» обновления каждые 5 минут — это ЧУШЬ. Я ОБОЖАЮ этот дистрибутив. У меня надёжная и стабильная база Debian — производительность Arch (скорость и другие параметры), возможности настройки KDE, работающий на моём компьютере ИИ в реальном времени (я сам это сделал, следуя инструкциям по настройке ИИ из Brave), и многое другое. Система поставляется с базовым набором программ, но не перегруженным, и при необходимости имеет доступ к Flatpak. Snap тоже, если вы достаточно глупы, чтобы ими пользоваться, но я бы не советовал... слишком много проблем со Snap, а также утечки конфиденциальной информации и другие недостатки. Как я уже говорил, система предлагает EXT4 или BTRFS, которые я выбрал из-за возможности создания снимков/мгновенного восстановления резервной копии системы в случае проблем, которая уже настроена и работает идеально.Гикам не читать. Very easy to use. I have tried almost every distro in the top 10 and linux mint is probably my favorite but I prefer the KDE over cinnamon. I dont understand why people in other reviews are complaining over very nit pick things like it coming with Brave Browser. Bro, download firefox. This distro is for newer users and is great at being beautiful and easy to use. I for one appreciate that everything i need is pre installed, and if I needed something to be a project I would download one of the Arch distros. Was this review helpful?
