Why is there such a stigma against girls who cosplay for money? As someone who has never had a girlfriend, being able to send money to cute girls who cosplay as the characters that I love is one of the only things in my life that makes me feel like I have a purpose. From patreon to onlyfans, it's on of my biggest joys and motivations in my life. One day I hope I can give money to a cosplayer at a con in real life and not just through the internet.

These girls don't give a fuck about anything nerdy, they just cosplay whatever the latest hot girl is and get losers to pay to get stepped on. Honestly, its the losers that get me even angrier because they enable this behavior and call it harmless, its not. Its led to the shitification of all major cons which are now so big that its hard to even get tickets either due to price or scalping. I remember a time when it was just nerds who'd come to even the massive cons like NYCC and it was fun. Nerdy guys and girls came out of their shell, talked to you and others, everyone was making friends, even hooking up in many instances. Now if you even look in a girl's direction at a con you're called a creep. No one wants to converse or make friends, they just want to watch the latest goyslop trailers, pay money to get stepped on or buy shitty 3D printed goods. BIG CONS FUCKING SUCK BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE THESE GIRLS AND THEIR SIMPS!

What are your rare, unconventional or unpopular opinions in lolita fashion? I don’t like when girls wear gold tea parties in coords that have no gold in them, I see this particularly in sweet lolita and it gives off the same vibe as when itas wear white blouses with dresses that have no white in them, it just ruins the coord. Pic unrelated.

>>10974875 It makes total sense. It's just like every fashion or style trend, things swing back and forth, and when the previous fashion was so over the top that it's literally called "Over the Top" it's not surprising that it's followed up by a return to the basics. I think it's especially true because OTT was pretty hard to stomach for outsiders and new people as well, it was a gradual progression for most people I knew who wore it.
On another level though, I think another big factor is that zoomers were exposed to fetish material much more heavily and earlier in life and it's a much bigger part of their worldview. I think they may be repelled by sweet and its substyles because it's popular with crossdressers, sissies, ageplayers, etc. and they can't disassociate it from that. Fetishization of goths is also huge in their generation and maybe a lot are going for more gothic/gothic-inspired "oldschool" stuff because it fits with that.
Another factor may be that they're more comfortable wearing alternative styles in normal life than we were, so they may be gravitating toward styles that are easier to wear and more practical for everyday activities. I saw that in our generation too with the lifestyle lolitas I knew, they always leaned more old school than the mainstream.

Sameposting here but chinese brands are influencing japanese brands into making those over designed lace on ruffles on bows on lace on ruffles dresses and those being many newfags' perception of lolita is the worst. They look so bland. Even older OTT sweet used to be much more creative and kind of had a soul to it, but with the new OTT hime catastrophy dresses it starts feeling uncreative and too conforming to a similar aesthetic. I think social media plays a part in popularization of chinese lolita because a ruffly princessy dress makes more sense to a normie than many other lolita styles would. Also my gatekeeper ass fears that I'll never find my dream pieces now that tiktokfags are buying the dream burando dresses

What the fuck gives? I'm sobering up at the airport right now and looking back this just makes me more pissed off I stopped doing cons because everyone was saying "25 is too old for cosplay" and covid kinda solidified that. I don't get how he wasn't seen as a creep or divorced dad. Are women and zoomers actually this fucking stupid? >>10955089 Point is, you just have to have fun and not worry too much about the attention. I just went to a con and tried to meet people instead of have fun. You know what I did the night before? I danced by myself in a party, for the first time. It was so fun! I had fun, and I think that my mistake today was that I was too concerned with how attractive I was. I should be going to these things to have fun. Attraction should be natural and come when it does. One girl might have been into me, but I didn't get to meet her. But that's not the end of the world. These people, frankly, put it a point that genuinely make me want to disagree (seriously, shame on all of you, he's frustrated and traveled all that way to go through that), but it's important to know that cosplay is for fun. Even going should just be for fun. I think I've gotten the gist of that today, and so should you.

compared to angelic pretty, i prefer my taobao pieces tbdesu. i felt so disappointed buying burando for the first time just for it to be this heavy dress with scratchy material and lace. like, i can say its thicker and the lace is definitely sewn on nicer, but i genuinely prefer the feeling of my taobao pieces. besides that the AP piece broke the second i put it on.
so yeah try out a few cn brands, maybe youll like them

I haven't shopped from Taobao in years, so now I'm blindsided by how much things have changed, especially from the USA side. How are people browsing nowadays, or do I have to rely on shopping service searches? What I love about AI is that I can feed it the long ass stories someone posted on instagram, about dramu, and give you guys the quick rundown.>Overall framing from Lux: Tamay Bang showed a pattern of initial support that turned into passive-aggressive (and sometimes outright aggressive) behavior, story-twisting, and using personal vulnerabilities against Lux once conflict arose, with the 2021 Yukai Fest confrontation as the clearest public breaking point. Lux presents this as corroborating what Wen and some others have experienced. Tamay continued to harass Lux for years since 2021. That's it, I just saved (You) minutes of babbling. Only funny detail I can add is that Lux's boyfriend needs a pair of balls. What kind of man CRIES when his gf is being harassed at a con? If you're a cosplay girl's bf, and you're at the con with her you gotta have a stronger mind than that.

>ITT: Dating in the hobby Seems like there is a tough barrier to work through when it comes to trying to keep your partner within the hobby. My ex hated cosplay and anime and it has done nothing but drive me to want to date cosplayers, more to help them afford better cosplays and all that, as well as just enjoy cons together and all that stuff. All the apps try and say that you can narrow down your search, or apps like Boo, but it just ends up being normies who either catfish or ghost. Is there an actual place or app to use that isn't dog shit? At the same time I've found that cosplayers generally want to be left alone at cons while they do their thing.
