Datinium is powerful but easy to get started for free. No sign up required for basic features. Register & log in to enable cloud sync, share, AI-assist with free-tier allowances. Get PRO for extra features, API-ification, AI-assist, email support, and to power up your allowances. Teams edition (in development) for private group sharing & collaboration features. See the plan comparison.
Released as an Exe file. Download, unzip, & run the .exe to install.
Released as a .AppImage file. Download, unzip, & copy the .AppImage to your preferred apps folder, make the file executable & launch.
Released as a .deb file. Download, unzip, & install: sudo dpkg -i Datinium-latest.deb
Released as a snap. Install via the snap store (or your software center if it's snap-enabled), or run: sudo snap install datinium
Load & save a range of datasets, including: CSV, TSV, DAT, Excel, ODS, JSON, ARFF (unlimited local datasets, sync to cloud has limits per plan)
Design datasets from scratch with synthetic data, to your specifications (coming soon..)
Perform basic cleaning & tidying operations on your dataset.
Take & save plain text or markdown format notes on each dataset
Interact with auto-generated univariate & bivariate stats & plots; perform sampling
Run/save/export local queries on your datasets with built-in SQL, Python, & R query engines
Sync datasets to the cloud (subject to allowances per-plan) & share them with others
Enable plug & play API-ification of synced datasets, for clients to access programatically
Datinium loads, stores, and processes datasets locally (in-browser or on the desktop app), but reaches out to the cloud on your terms. Choose which datasets follow you between environments with sync, and empower them with sharing and API.
AI-assist is there when (or if) you need it - to help with describing, analysing, or querying your datasets. AI allowances (monthly credits) are assigned based on your level of subscription.
Datinium is targeted at professionals, students, academics, or other data enthusiasts who primarily undertake data analysis work on the desktop. The web app is the easiest way to begin and can be accessed via app.datinium.com. An installable cross-platform (Electron) version of the app is also available to download. There are currently no plans for an app on mobile devices.
Datinium is designed to best load and process small to moderately large sized datasets, but potentially larger datasets depending on your computing power. Sync limits stipulate 10MB (free) and 150MB (PRO) size per dataset, however the theoretical limit is what you can load and process on your machine (although if over the sync limit they will not be synced to the cloud). So long as your computer is powerful enough (RAM, CPU, storage) to handle them, then feel free to experiment. To be certain that your browser persists to the local data store safely, make sure to enable persistent storage. See the 'Dataset storage health' footer toolbar popup in the app for advice.
Here are all the supported dataset file types you can currently load into Datinium:
| CSV | .csv | text/csv, application/csv |
| TSV | .tsv | text/tab-separated-values |
| PSV / Pipe-separated | .psv | text/plain |
| Custom-delimited | .txt, .dat | text/plain |
| ARFF | .arff | text/x-arff |
| Excel * | .xls, .xslx | application/vnd.ms-excel,application/vnd. openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet |
| ODS / Open document * | .ods | application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.spreadsheet |
| JSON ^ | .json | application/json |
* Reads the entire worksheet of the first sheet.
^ Expects array of objects , eg: [{name1:val, name2:val}, {name1:val, name2:val}, ...]
