About me

I’m a designer, toolmaker, web platform enthusiast, and amateur archivist living in Romania.

This website is my notebook. You’ll find longform articles, short notes, and the occasional dispatch of techy links (currently on pause), available here or through a set of Atom feeds. I also keep a digital garden — notes, snippets, and scraps on various topics, organized loosely and updated all the time.

The writing and supporting illustrations on this website are of my own making — sans garbaige. They carry a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Code samples are available under the MIT license. (Feel free to use Dan Burzo, Dan, or DB as a byline when linking here; my middle name may go beyond your webfont’s Unicode coverage and the ăs just stick out.)

The website is made with Eleventy, with a search function powered by Pagefind. It’s typeset in Newsreader, a sharp editorial serif typeface designed Hugues Gentile and Jean-Baptiste Levée at Production Type.
