How do I get access to Grok Bot?
Grok Bot access is included on several Cursor plans. You can also grant usage to your Cursor account by linking an individual SuperGrok Plus or SuperGrok Heavy subscription.
| Situation | What to do | Grok Bot usage |
|---|---|---|
| You're on Cursor Ultra | Sign in to Grok Bot with the same account. Access is included. | Highest weekly usage |
| You're on Cursor Pro+ | Sign in to Grok Bot with the same account. Access is included. | Generous weekly usage, below Ultra |
| You're on a Cursor Teams plan (self-serve) | Sign in with your Cursor account. Every member has access. No Premium seat or admin request required. | Follows the Teams plan allowance |
| You're on Cursor Enterprise | Consult your account executive to enable Grok Bot access for your team. | Managed by your admin |
| You have individual SuperGrok Heavy | Link your Grok account from the Grok Bot plan screen. See Link SuperGrok for Grok Bot. | Highest linked usage |
| You have individual SuperGrok Plus | Link your Grok account from the Grok Bot plan screen. See Link SuperGrok for Grok Bot. | Generous linked usage, below Heavy |
| You have SuperGrok Team or SuperGrok Enterprise | SuperGrok linking is not supported. Only individual SuperGrok Plus or Heavy accounts can link. | Not included |
| You're on Cursor Pro | Grok Bot is not included. Upgrade to Pro+, Ultra, or a Cursor Teams plan, or link an individual SuperGrok Plus or Heavy account. | Not included |
| You're on basic SuperGrok | Grok Bot is not included. Only individual SuperGrok Plus or Heavy accounts can link. | Not included |
Linking SuperGrok is a usage grant, not a Cursor plan. Your existing Cursor plan stays in place after linking.
What's the difference between Pro, Pro+, and Ultra for Grok Bot?
- Pro does not include Grok Bot access.
- Pro+ includes Grok Bot with generous weekly usage, below the Ultra tier.
- Ultra includes Grok Bot with the highest weekly usage.
Pro+ and Ultra both sign in to Grok Bot the same way: use the same Cursor account.
Do I need a separate Grok Bot subscription?
No. Access is included with Cursor Pro+, Cursor Ultra, or a Cursor Teams seat, or through an individual SuperGrok Plus or SuperGrok Heavy account link.
Does joining a Cursor Teams plan require a Premium seat for Grok Bot?
No. On a self-serve Cursor Teams plan, every member gets Grok Bot on their Cursor account. Team admins do not need to assign a Premium seat, and members do not need to request access.
Grok Bot usage draws from the Teams plan's usage allowance for that seat. See Team pricing for how seat allowances work.
How does Grok Bot usage work?
Paid Grok Bot access includes usage that resets weekly. When your weekly included usage runs out, extra Grok Bot usage can continue on your account's shared on-demand spend if on-demand is enabled.
Grok Bot usage is metered on your Cursor account, not on Grok. A SuperGrok link grants Grok Bot usage on that same Cursor account while SuperGrok stays active. It does not create a second meter on Grok, and it does not change your Cursor plan.
How does the Grok Bot free trial work and how do I use it efficiently?
The Grok Bot free trial is a usage credit rather than a set number of days, though a 7-day window also applies.
The credit is drawn down by how much work your agents do, measured by agent steps and tokens rather than the number of messages you send. Larger or longer agent jobs use more, so how far the credit goes depends on how you use it.
To make your trial credit go further:
- Start small and scope tasks tightly, then scale up once you see how much each task uses.
- Check your usage on the plan screen before running large or long agent jobs.
Is Grok Bot usage shared between macOS and iOS?
Yes. macOS and iOS share a single usage bucket tied to your signed-in Cursor account. Both apps call the same backend, so usage you see on Mac is the same quota shown on iOS.
What if my trial ran out during a single run?
The trial is a usage credit, so a large or long-running agent task can use most or all of it at once. This is expected, and used trial credit is not restored or topped up.
To keep using Grok Bot, upgrade to Cursor Pro+, Cursor Ultra, or a Cursor Teams plan, or link an individual SuperGrok Plus or SuperGrok Heavy account.
See How do I get access to Grok Bot?. To make the credit go further, see How does the Grok Bot free trial work and how do I use it efficiently?.
If a run failed with an error rather than an unsatisfying result, report it by following Report a bug.
What happens to my Cursor plan when I link SuperGrok?
Linking SuperGrok is a usage grant, not a Cursor plan. It doesn't change or cancel your Cursor plan.
- If you already pay for Cursor Pro, Pro+, or Ultra, that subscription stays in place after linking.
- If you're on a Cursor Teams seat, the seat stays in place after linking.
- If you had no Cursor plan before linking, you still don't, and Grok Bot usage comes from the SuperGrok grant alone.
A SuperGrok link is permanent once created. You can't unlink or move it to a different Cursor account, so sign in with the correct Cursor account before linking. See Link SuperGrok for Grok Bot for the linking steps.
How do I cancel my Grok Bot trial or request a partial refund?
Canceling a trial:
- You can cancel a Grok Bot trial from the plan screen (Cancel Trial).
- For Apple Pay or App Store trial paths, use Apple's subscription management if the in-app cancel button is unavailable.
- Contact support when cancellation does not take effect within 24 hours.
Partial refund eligibility:
- The Grok Bot free trial is a usage credit, not a charge, so there is nothing to refund. Used trial credit is not restored. See What if my trial ran out during a single run?.
- Refunds for active paid subscriptions follow Refunds. Prorated refunds are not issued for mid-cycle downgrades with usage.
Trial cancellation is self-serve when Cancel Trial is available on the plan screen. For a refund on an active paid subscription, follow the steps in Refunds.
