At ClassMetric we’re building tools to improve student engagement in the classroom.

The first tool is an “understanding meter” that gives professors a way to get continuous feedback from students during lecture. Using their laptops, students can say "I understand" or "I don’t get it.“ This is a simple but important statement that is socially impossible in most classrooms.

This is just one example of the many social barriers to productive communication in classrooms today. TAs often sit idle during class while students struggle to understand the lecture - what if the TAs could answer student questions without disrupting class? With ClassMetric they do. Students are often frustrated when the professor switches slides before they’re ready to go on. They end up getting confused and then give up and shut up. What if the students could independently navigate the slideshow on their own computers without disrupting the class? With ClassMetric they do!
