Takuya Obata,
a Japanese computer scientist, M.Sc in 2011 from the Department of Computer Science, University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo. As Shogi programmer, Takuya Obata is author of Clair 1/128 and 1/128 Rigan, and co-author of Bonanza 1. Clair 1/128 won the Gold medal in Shogi (5x5), Kanazawa 2010, ahead of runner-up Shokidoki by Harm Geert Muller, while Shokidoki won Gold in Yokohama 2013 ahead of 1/128 Rigan operated by Nakamichi Takashi. Clair 1/128 applies magic bitboards and the Bonanza method of automated tuning 2 3 4.
