Happy-Chess (Masterchess v1.2),
a chess program for the Commodore 64 by Thomas Starke, written in 6502 assembly 1, published by the German Happy Computer magazine in 1988 as part of the C64 game collection Vol. 4 2. Happy-Chess has an own 2D graphics board graphical user interface. It can only play with the black pieces.
