Acorn Atom,
a 6502 based home computer manufactured and released by Acorn Computers Ltd in 1980. It lacked a disk drive but had an integrated keyboard and cassette interface. The Atom had 2 KiB expandable to 12 KiB of RAM and 8 KiB expandable to 12 KiB of ROM including Atom BASIC 1. In late 1982, Acorn released an upgrade ROM which allowed users to switch between Atom BASIC and the more advanced BBC BASIC used by its successor, the BBC Micro. The Motorola 6847 video chip provided text and graphics displayed on a TV or video monitor.
