Look, he doesn't mean to offend, he just doesn't have time for this.
There's always some sort of fire that needs putting out. Always something needing his intervention. He's just busy, okay? Running a House seems simple until you actually start running it. People need their complaints heard, their wants met, their rewards distributed, their conflicts resolved - and the hydra never stops sprouting new snouts. Oh, and also check on how Caninoris is doing, and also can I get an emergency ration, and say hi to Sirius for me, and you forgot to update the database about my planets, and also can I get an audience with Sirius, and what do you think about Sirius' psychosis, and are you going to take over as Head for Sirius, since well you know, Sirius, Sirius Sirius Sirius Siri-

He's been Sirius' freakin' janitor for millennia. You'd think he would've gotten fed up by now. People know he's powerful - he knows, and he knows they talk. Mirzam could've been Head. Mirzam could've had the House. So why does he capitulate? Well, it's fine that others don't get it. He doesn't ask that of them. In fact, he asks nothing of anybody. He'd like to think of himself as resourceful, independent, and diligent. It's not like he needs help managing the House - look at how tight a ship they have, even without Sirius' direct orders anymore. You know, if it was just him and Sirius all alone in space, just stuck with one another for eternity... the only thing he'd worry about is food, honestly....

They used to be close. "Used to"? It's too hard to shed those feelings completely. But that affection and camaraderie is being replaced, slowly but surely, by disgust, revulsion, betrayal... stupid, stupid, stupid how Orion can so perfectly throw a wrench into their entire House. Did Muli even really know him? If he had, he would've never tried to push Mirzam to take the House. Maybe it's Mirzam's fault, reading too much into everything, as always....

Caninoris is fine, but he can't help but find Procya... a little annoying. He's just so obsessed about Probyon, it's frustrating to try to talk to him. Consultations grind to a halt because he asks Probyon's opinion on literally everything. So he and Sirius always leave Caninoris hours after their scheduled leave, which ruins all their other plans. Not fun!

He's a frightening fellow, isn't he. At least he doesn't have much reason to ever visit Canimajori. Though, somtimes Mirzam has to wonder why Aistar is okay with terrorists like Orion and Scorpio running around, free to pillage and destroy. Some lousy "protector" he is....

He'd never admit it in a thousand eons, but... he didn't really care about Sibria, and he's not all that sad that they're gone. They weren't - malicious or offensive, nothing that would be actually objectionable. They just weren't close, in the way stars tend not to be if they don't work together intimately. Does it make him a bad person, considering how much Sirius means to him, then? Mmnnn....

Trivia
- Dislikes the trend of Zlimi inserting chiseled white quartz into their slime to serve as teeth that look comfortable/familiar to other races. Also dislikes sticking other things in as pseudo-horns or the like; wants his gel to remain "pure".
- Is roughly the same age as Sirius, but didn't meet him until Sirius starting rising to power. Mirzam was significantly powerful and many assumed Sirius would assign him to be a guard or warrior, but Mirzam privately begged not to be sent to the frontlines and Sirius agreed.
- This has mostly been forgotten by a majority of Canimajori since it wasn't as big of a scandal as it initially sounds; just a bit confusing.
- Sibria would occasionally comment on it, though, especially if the border patrollers were struggling.
- Mirzam worked mostly as a practical mage in direct service to Sirius instead. This eventually expanded to working as his secretary or personal assistant.
- Core is in the shape of a triangle, like his pupils. Keeps it usually in his lower torso.
- Doesn't maintain any "taste", so he just tastes like raw magic (or blood).
- Keeps pencils and pens in his body, but nothing else.
- Has some flowers scattered around his office and maintains a few pots in Sirius'. Nerdy about flower languages and keeps making Sirius very romantic bouquets, which he never explains.
- Associated celestial object is Mirzam / Beta Canis Major.
