Biography
He. Loved. Them. FIRST.
Oh, let him guess - Aurum's already gotten to you, hasn't he, and made that claim himself? Ah, that psychotic liar... a petty, cruel tyrant atop his golden throne, who wields the terrifying power of creation as a stick to beat others into submission. Fundamentally, Cyp does not disagree that the world of magic is a beautiful and wondrous thing. No, those words do not even do it justice - but can petty language alone truly articulate the breadth of his feeling?
For, you see, in the world of magic all are equals. Magic attracts magic, every different color and wavelength and resonation. Magic can be anything - anything, beyond even the wildest of dreams. It gallops away into a heartwarming, curious adventure, becomes anew and afresh with ideas, and then collapses back into itself, satisfied with what it's learned. There is no fear of harm, no fear of greater forces beyond that pervert and warp and twist and hurt.
Except them. The metals. Their very existence consumes magic whole, destroys it at the source in the name of self-propagation. In that sense, they are lucky that Aurum has ordered subservience and protection. But he does not understand the world of magic the way Cyprium does, you see. No - he is a brutish idiot, driven mad by isolation and rejection. His feeble mind cannot grasp the existence of beings that reject his worldview and his power, the fundamental foundation upon which all of Aurum's life experience was built.
He never learned what it was like, to reach out in awe and love and admiration that such a generous and kind world could exist, and be nearly killed for it.

♡♡♡♡♡ Aurum
Relationship: Scourge
Hm, what words are strong enough to sully Aurum's poor name with? Vermin, if not for the implication of something small and skittering. But as a blight on society, a detested pest that should be culled at first sight, whose very presence invokes the disgusting and unclean - perhaps it will do. His moods and aggression come like drunken beatings, his ideals and dreams echo as capricious nightmares. What a terrible animal to have entrusted the power of gold to.
♥♥♥♡♡ Argent
Relationship: Sympathetic
They are not close. None of the metals can be - their very existence hinges on the inherent power imbalance between the three. And Cyp is well aware he is at the bottom of that pecking order. There is common ground when they are both shafted by Aurum, but Argent is often just as eager to exert some control and force on his weaker fellow sufferer. And so they can never be close.

♥♡♡♡♡ Hyrance
Relationship: Acquaintance
A pathetic perversion labored into reality by Aurum's revolting machinations. That he would think it right to take magic and enslave it in such a way - only one as creatively cruel yet idiotic as he could fathom it. The pain it brings Hyrance, the agony, the corruption - Aurum sees none of it. If only Cyp could help him somehow....
♥♥♥♥♥ Kolo
Relationship: ...
When he first reached through the veil, it was Kolo he touched, and Kolo that lashed back in response. Yes, it stung... electrifying pain through his entire body, strong enough for Aurum to salivate over. He's suffered for his love, yes. But it remains love, nontheless... love for you, especially....

Trivia
- Though copper prevents magic from being casted if used, it is the weakest of the three metals and brittle enough that unsecured mages can escape copper through overpowering it with magic. Hence - when he tried to interact with magic, was literally burnt for it.
- Constantly oscillating between loving magic still/wanting to be accepted by it and hating it for rejecting him/thinking it deserves assimilation. Usually leans towards the former, but all the trauma of existing as the lowest metal makes it hard to resist the comforting defense of the latter.
- Actually a huge nerd about everything magic and is knowledgeable about the world, but is too emotionally stilted to use any of that to forge connections or make his intentions clearer.
- Tends to quote well-known Frag book scenes when trying to express himself or draw comparisons. Accidentally comes off as pretentious for it.
- Was released from jail after promising 1000x he would not harm anyone. Mags were prepared to be intimidated and scared from how much Aurum acted like Cyp was going to instantly go on a murder-rampage, but Cyp mostly just stares at them from afar really intensely.
- Wants hugs and kisses. Wants to distribute hugs and kisses. Well it's a little less PG-13 than that but
