FEATURES

Innovate with Redis on Azure

Latest Redis software

Experience the latest Redis has to offer with automatic patching, updates, scaling, and provisioning, allowing you to focus on development.

Accelerated data performance

Achieve high throughput, low latency, and highly compatible client connections to manage up to millions of requests per second.

RediSearch

Transform your cache into a real-time search engine for advanced AI applications with low latency and features like querying multiple fields, auto-complete, geo-filtering, and K-nearest neighbor (KNN) search.

Active geo-replication

Enable up to five Redis instances to create a unified cache across Azure regions, allowing seamless selection of local primary caches for optimal read and write performance.

RedisJSON

Store, query, and search JSON-formatted data for efficient document management in your cache. RedisJSON offers operations for all data types and dedicated syntax for quick access and updates to document elements.

RedisTimeSeries

Enhance your cache with high-throughput time series capabilities, optimized for handling large volumes of incoming data.

Flash optimized

Efficiently scale Redis clusters by seamlessly shifting infrequently accessed data from memory (RAM) to NVMe storage, optimizing performance while reducing costs for large datasets.

Non-high availability configurations

Optimize costs with non-high availability setups for development testing—ideal for performance evaluation and iterative development.

RedisBloom

Achieve unmatched speed and memory efficiency while boosting performance with advanced probabilistic data structures.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Azure Managed Redis delivers the latest Redis innovations tailored for hyperscale cloud environments with up to 99.999% industry-leading availability. With flexible performance and memory options, Azure Managed Redis provides a low total cost of ownership (TCO) to meet diverse and mission-critical workload needs.
  • Azure Managed Redis offers fast, cost-effective data access, reducing latency for high-demand applications and AI-powered apps. It scales easily to handle growing workloads, supports seamless updates, and minimizes operational overhead. With advanced features like geo-replication and data persistence, it ensures high availability. Enhanced security through network isolation, Microsoft Entra ID authentication, and built-in monitoring all simplify management while saving costs.
  • Azure Managed Redis is a new service that brings the latest Redis innovations across all tiers with competitive pricing. This transition is designed to improve application performance and scalability, making it especially beneficial for AI use cases.

Azure Cache for Redis Enterprise is being retired on March 30, 2028, and Azure Cache for Redis Basic, Standard, and Premium on September 30, 2028, and it will be generally available (GA) until then. We recommend using Azure Managed Redis for all your existing and new workloads.
  • Unlike traditional databases that rely on slower disk-based storage, Azure Managed Redis stores data in memory. This allows for much faster data writing and retrieval since memory is significantly quicker than disk storage.
  • Azure Managed Redis enhances application performance and scalability when used with Azure services, acting as an optimal caching layer for Azure databases to maintain low TCO. Additionally, it interoperates smoothly with Azure Functions, accelerating event-driven actions for efficient performance.
  • Azure Managed Redis supports data types such as:

    • Strings for key-value pairs
    • Hashes for collections of key-value pairs
    • Lists for ordered collections
    • Sets for unique elements
    • Sorted sets for ranked elements
    • Bitmaps for bit-level operations
    • HyperLogLog for approximating unique counts
    • Geospatial indexes for geographic data
    • Streams for log-based data sequences
  • For the full pricing details, please visit the Azure Managed Redis pricing page.
  • Azure Cache for Redis is being retired because Azure Managed Redis is now generally available for customers. Azure Managed Redis is a fully managed, first-party service built in partnership with Redis. Designed to meet the needs of modern, cloud-native, and AI-powered applications, Azure Managed Redis is now ready for production workloads globally.
  • Benefit from fully managed, first-party service built in partnership with Redis, which is now ready for production workloads globally, offering improved performance, flexible deployment options, and cost-efficient scalability.

Upgrade to Azure Managed Redis before the retirement date (March 30, 2027, for Azure Cache for Redis Enterprise and September 30, 2028, for Azure Cache for Redis Basic, Standard, and Premium). Caches that are not migrated to Azure Managed Redis will be disabled after the retirement date.
