Talks and presentations I have given at conferences, meetups, and internal events. Mostly around observability, distributed systems, cost awareness, and managing large-scale datastores.
AI in the Space of Observability
May 2026 — Bangalore SRE Meetup
Going into the details of AI constructs like skills, workflows, and workpacks. Exploring and building skills for observability use cases with a demo.
Panel Discussion — Grafana Meetup at JFrog
March 2026 — Grafana Meetup, Bangalore
A panel discussion with startup founders and practitioners about the current trends in the observability space.
Neovim for All My Workflows
January 2026 — Command Line Heroes
A demo of my Neovim setup — plugins, workflows, config, and keybindings. My entire Neovim config is published on GitHub.
AI in Observability — Logs Are Not Dead (Yet)
August 2025 — Bangalore SRE Meetup
Making a case for emitting structured logs from applications. Demonstrating a working solution with an SDK built for structuring logs, and how these formatted logs are well consumed by LLMs to gain application insights. Logs are a great form of telemetry when done right, especially in the age of AI.
Consumable Observability
May 2025 — Smarsh Tech Conference, Bangalore
A talk about making all forms of observability telemetry democratic — usable by Engineering, Product, and Support staff in SaaS companies. The call for making telemetry easy to consume by hiding abstractions, including natural language querying with Bedrock doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes.
Metrics Madness in Observability
January 2025 — Bangalore SRE Meetup
How some APM tools charge based on the metrics we emit as telemetry, and how this can hurt if we’re not careful about what we’re emitting. Covers kinds of metrics, rules of thumb when emitting metrics, and when to use other telemetry forms instead.
Cost as an Architectural Pillar
November 2024 — Smarsh Global Tech Conference, Cambridge UK
A talk about cost awareness for engineers. Going into the details of ways to include cost considerations during the design phase of a product.
Measuring What Really Matters in Observability
October 2024 — Smarsh Global Tech Conference, Cambridge UK
The mental model for measuring the right things from a product from an observability standpoint. Dwelling into the details of what makes sense as a metric vs trace vs log. Touching core concepts like sampling in traces and proving with data why it isn’t a bad thing.
Observability — From Low to No Noise Alerts
October 2024 — Smarsh Global Tech Conference, Cambridge UK
How observability teams can onboard new teams and services with a default set of alerts, reducing toil for new teams. A framework for new products on configuring the alerting system.
Focused Working
September 2024 — Pint Sized Insights
A talk on how worrying is not always a bad thing — a talk about thinking in general.
Podcast with Zenduty — Observability Insights
April 2024
A conversation about trends and work in the observability space.
