Kiki sits at her desk, Antenna grabbed in her hands, looking frustrated and exhausted at a book. The room is dark and only lit by a lamp on her desk. Speech bubbles say: “Why am I not getting this?!” and “I’ve read the same sentence 15 times now!” Text at the top reads: “Because if everything else came with great struggle to me, then why would love just be given freely?”

A young Kiki sits at her school desk while a large hand, it's suggested that it's the teachers, points toward her. The text says: “After 2 years of therapy, I’m doing much better.” and “I’ve learnt to recognize and tolerate hard feelings, and made many corrective experiences. It gets better.”

I’ve always felt like I needed to earn love - and if it comes easily, I get suspicious.
(Will draw strategies for this soon). My therapist keeps saying I’m loveable and worthy of love just for being alive…funny how a simply fact like that is so hard to accept huh.

adhd adhdalien comic rejection sensitivity

AI slop version of one of the adhd alien comics advertising some scam app. It has the same pink background as one adhd alien comics. the entire post has huge red letters reading "fake" across it

Ngl this has me kind of mad. Someone made AI slop of my art to advertise some slop app. I’m so mad because I declined hundreds of sponsorship offers for apps that felt exploitative of vulnerable groups and „ADHD-curing“ vitamins, and I’m here feeling bad advertising my book and they just go and do this. One of these vitamin grifters have used my art before without approval.

- I’ve only ever accepted one sponsorship for a drawing tablet

- I don’t use AI

- I don’t partner with vitamins, herbs, coachings, apps, anything that would make use of my target audience and that I don’t strongly believe in myself

So please know that if I do sponsorships I’ll post about it on my own channels to let you know. Please be safe out there, report these ads and never hesitate to ask me if you’re unsure.

And it should go without saying but I would never insult myself as an artist to this degree by using AI to make images for me. I do not use AI and despise having my art fed into it.

An arrow points toward the star as the text explains that when something rewarding is within her time horizon, it naturally becomes the focus of her motivation and attention. A final note explains that the rewarding thing is usually not the task she was originally supposed to be doing. The comic highlights how immediate rewards often overpower distant goals, even when the distant goal is objectively more important.

Panel 3 At the top, the ADHD Alien character moves through the clouds toward a large glowing star. The text explains that immediately rewarding activities feel more real and compelling because they provide a sense of satisfaction right away.
